Absolutely brilliant! The house is beautiful and so welcoming. Magda has decorated every corner with care. Lots of quirky features. Great terraced garden and wonderful views.
Great location although you do need a car unless you are a hiker. Central for Dubrovnik and Split as day trips with lots of Riveira resorts nearby. We had a great stay and we wanted for nothing.
Thank you Magda for your hospitality. Xxx
Stayed a week with 3 teenagers in this fantastic villa. Great poolarea, nice interiors and wonderful view over the Mediterranean. And quick and helpful contact with the owner when needed.
No surprisesâŠthis villa is exactly as it is portrayed, even better. Beautiful, quaint village on a hill overlooking Podgora, with every attention to detail in comfort and design. Their restaurant also idyllic - by the water in Podgora. Central - so Split and Dubrovnik easy to get to. If you get a chance to stay here, youâre very fortunate. As we were.
My kids (9 and 11), parents (75 years old) and I spent 2 wonderful nights at this stunning home, but could have easily spent our entire Croatia visit here, using it as a base to explore areas to the north and south of Podgora/Makarska. Magda is an absolutely perfect host, going above and beyond all expectations! The house is an experience all to itself - renovated with love and attention to detail. A perfect stay!
Roko Villa is set slightly up the mountain about 4 min drive outside Podgora. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality, cleanliness and beautiful atmosphere of the cottage. It felt very homely and the few neighbours that there are in this secluded area wish you a warm hello in the morning or afternoon. Everything was in excellent working order, kitchen well equipped. The pool area is fantastic - be aware it is 150cm deep for little ones. Magda was a great host, she would quickly respond to any messages and left us a lovely welcome gift of Croatian foods, fresh fruit and essentials when we got there. She even gave us a lift down to the town one evening so we could have dinner with a few drinks! She has a restaurant in Podgora (Roko Restaurant) which I would also highly recommend when you're there. We had a great stay just my partner and I and would definitely come back with the whole family.
This villa is amazing! We stayed for a week in peak season with our two teenage daughters aged 14 and 17. This is probably the best villa we have ever stayed in. A converted old stone house with original features and modern additions. We loved it. It was exceptionally clean and well presented with great attention to detail and welcoming groceries and fruit. There were lots of clean towels, loo rolls, cleaning products and the little things you tend to forget were all catered for. The pool area was exceptional; raised above the level of the villa so that you can see the sea and islands to the front and have the majestic mountains as a backdrop. It was even more magical than the pictures suggested! We could easily spend the entire day just chilling out by the pool and observing the views and wildlife. The pool table in the loft room made for some competitive games of pool of an evening and was great entertainment for the teenagers! Magda and her family were excellent hosts and easily accessible via text. They run a restaurant on the sea front in Podgora where we ate one evening. We had a table reserved for us just a few feet from the waterâs edge and we ate their delicious food, drank complimentary cocktails and watched an amazing sunset. I am a coeliac and was pleased to see there were lots of dishes that I could chose from.
It was possible to walk from the villa down a winding track to the beach at Caklje. It took about 20 minutes. The walk back up was hard work so best avoided at very hot times of day! The surrounding village to the villa with its large church and some derelict houses was interesting to explore and photograph. We had a fantastic week here. Top tip 1: If like us you do not like crowded beaches and are prepared to walk a little way to find a more secluded, picturesque beach then check out Garma beach. You can park down the road in an olive grove and walk to it along small paths. Remember your wet shoes as all beaches are rocky. Top tip 2: mosquito repellent!
Having never used home away (or similar) before this was an entirely new experience. New process and a brand new country we had never visited before! Magda and Alan looked after our every concern and exceeded all our expectations. The villa was beautiful- so very well thought out both inside and outside. There was everything there you could ever possibly need. Podgora was also extremely pleasant and our wonderful hostâs restaurant is an absolute must- divine food.
The Dalmatian coast, the villa and our hosts were perfect. We canât wait to return to explore more.

We really loved to stay at your fantastic house. The views were outstanding. Everything in the house was very nice and comfortable. We did not want to leave the house.
We were out on a boat one day and went to Split and Trogir anorher day. And one night we had a fantastic dinner at Roko.
Rest of the week we spend at villa Roko most of the time in the pool.
Thank you for a wonderful week. We will recommend villa Roko to all our friends.

Traumhaftes Objekt! Sehr nette zuvorkommende Vermieter!
Weâve just spent 10 days at Roko Vintage. Despite the current heatwave we seem to be struggling through - Magda and Allen did their best to accommodate us. They brought in fans to make us more comfortable.
The views are incredible. The villa is comfortable and well appointed. Due to the vegetation all around- you do need plenty of Deet. We all got bitten!
There was a burst water pipe outside the villa which meant we had no water for half a day. But Magda ensured the Water Board came out first thing in the morning and it was dealt with surprisingly quickly.
The only issue we had was that parking your rental vehicle outside the villa on the narrow roads was tricky.
Magda was always at hand to suggest restaurants and boat trips and even to help with bookings.
We were all very impressed with the Dalmatian coastline- from Split to Dubrovnik. The roads are well surfaced and a pleasure to drive on. Take note - most car parks only accept coins(Kuna). And change is hard to come by!
We found people really friendly, the food delicious and good value.
The beaches are extremely clean - but rocky. You need gel shoes to properly enjoy it!
Itâs been a wonderful introduction to Croatia. Stunning coastline, pretty towns, the freshest seafood, beautiful wines, warm friendly people, fabulous weather. An Adriatic gem!
Thank you Magda and Allen for a wonderful stay. And congratulations once again on the birth of your son just days before we arrived!
We will certainly be back!

What you see in the photographs is what you get. It is a beautiful villa with equally beautiful views. The reception and service from Magda and her husband was fantastic. Stocking us up with essential goodies was a welcome surprise and very much appreciated. The villa is a very short trip up the hill from the town of Podgora and it is as a result very quiet and a wonderful escape. The pool was always clean and we loved lounging around. We cooked a bbq meal which was a real treat for us. Magda's restaurant which is in town, was very good and we made sure to return one more time before we left Podgora. The villa is very accessible to Dubrovnik, Split, Bosnia Herzegovina and various beaches It is best to have a car. Highly recommended and fantastic value. Thank you Magda & family.
This property is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay. We arrived quite late from Split and Magda was waiting for us patiently at her restaurant Roko - great food and highly recommended. A huge amount of food was provided to ensure we could get started and nothing was a problem for Magda.
It is a reasonable distance from the main town of Podgorica so a challenge to walk but the views from this property and the peace and quiet are adequate compensation.
We would highly recommend this property - we are sad to leave.

We had an amazing 12 nights stay. Magda and Alan are the perfect hosts and always had time for us despite the busiest time at their restaurant Roko which is definitely worth a visit too. The food was exquisite. The views are stunning from the poolside and the house is a delight with the shutters open on the cooler days, When I say cooler - late 20s early 30s! Interior is beautiful but most importantly functional with throws so nothing is too precious, but very comfortable. Bikes on tap for the more adventurous but very hilly so beware and best to go out before the heat of the day. Plenty to see and do in Croatia when you can tear yourself from the tranquil poolside. Kra falls, Dubrovnik, Islands Zip wires. Even moved me to poetry, Hopefully we will be back
Rugged rocks, the whitened stone,
Amongst the beauty of the olive groves:
Croation coast, oh you can boast:
Dalmatia you are the perfect host!
Adriatic blue, so crystal too;
Amid the mountain vistas true.
Flotillas sail, Dubrovnik bound,
Or find Hvar, the idyll harbour sound;
Brac, with Zlatni Rac, to stroll around,
Paradise in the islands found!
Nestled in Pogdora old, is the
Villa in Krzanici.
Shutters green, this utter scene,
Of bliss, a blessed dream.
With terraced pool for relaxation;
Or endless paths and bikes for exploration!
Swallows flit and dance, as in a trance:
Dip and dive to drink and prance,
Til blown by Bora wind off course,
In search of purest water source!
Luxurious space, to rest unwind.
Leaves Croatian love entwined:
A visit to this Croatia a must
In Magda we certainly trust!
