BEWARE – DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had.To start, we never received the initial email with the property’s address. After some back-and-forth, we got the location, but the entry code didn’t work when we arrived. We had to wait outside for about 30 minutes before getting a new code. Inside, the house was 60 degrees with no working heat, three bedrooms had stained bedding, and we found half-full beer cans in the backyard.We also discovered that the microwave was broken and the ice makers in the freezer didn’t work. Our only communication was through an AI bot on the Vrbo portal, and it took a long time to get a hold of the owner. When we went out for dinner and returned, all the keypads died, locking us out again. We found the owner’s number on an expired permit posted on the property and finally got inside with a physical key after over an hour.At 4 AM, smoke alarms started beeping due to dead batteries. We had to troubleshoot with the owner for 1.5 hours. Someone came late the next evening to fix the alarms, and the owner sent space heaters, which arrived late and weren’t enough for all the rooms. Shortly after plugging them in, the first floor’s power went out, leaving us freezing again. Although a technician temporarily fixed the heat on the last day, it only lasted about 20 minutes before failing.No refund or compensation was offered, and the owner never came in person.
