My wife and I have been here many, many times and it has always been charming, yet this time it was subpar. Be aware: 1)There is quite a bit of construction around the outside of the property, which includes the parking lot area, outside the property boundaries, and some of the golf area. It doesn't interfere with the core of the resort, but it detracts from the charm. 2) Service - if you want any help with your luggaage, good luck. The parking lot is gravel or pitted and if it rains is a muddy mess. There is no one to help with luggage, either from your car, or to your room. The parking lot is 50 yards from check in and the cottages are spread across the property. The most annoying thing was you can only communicate in person or through text with the front desk, or getting assistance. There are no phones in the rooms. I tried calling the main number many times, but only got a busy signal each time. They do respond to text, but it takes time to get an answer to even the simplest questions. 3) Rooms - we booked one of their top priced rooms and found it to be disappointing in some ways (tiny closet with only a hanging bar halfway up, so nothing long can hang; smallest and cheapest amenities I have seen in a premium property for a long time; stains on the couch and the rug), yet overall the size and design was nice. 4) Consideration. After 3 nights in a premium room we asked for a one hour later checkout and was basically dismissed by the front desk. Not great customer service.
