  • Vanaf het balkon van Calypso 1806 West-Tower II, een appartement met 3 slaapkamers aan het strand, kunt u niet alleen uitkijken over de suikerwitte zandstranden en de smaragdgroene Golf van Mexico, maar ook naar de Russell-Fields Pier, slechts 5 - minuten lopen. Dat alleen al is genoeg om van deze onlangs opnieuw ingerichte unit een idyllische thuisbasis te maken voor uw vakantie in Panama Beach.

    Maar er is nog veel meer om van te houden. Bovendien beschikt het complex over 2 grote zwembaden, een met palmbomen bezaaide patio aan het strand, een tiki-bar tijdens het seizoen en een fitnessruimte. (Merk op dat tijdens het seizoen Calypso 1806 West alleen beschikbaar is voor wekelijkse verhuur met een aankomst op zaterdag.)

    Het balkon beslaat zowel de woon- / eetkamer en de grote slaapkamer van Calypso 1806 West. Glazen schuifdeuren bieden directe toegang vanuit beide kamers en bieden u de mogelijkheid om zelfs binnen te kijken naar het glinsterende zand en het water - en omdat het apparaat op de 18e verdieping ligt, zijn de uitzichten adembenemend. Het balkon is ingericht met fauteuils, zodat u kunt genieten van uw koffie in de ochtend of een drankje na het eten buiten in de zeebries, kijkend naar dolfijnen die spelen in de branding en meeuwen duikbom voor vissen.

    De bank en fauteuils in de woonkamer zijn ook topposities voor het bewonderen van het landschap - of het kijken van een film op de flat-panel tv met kabel of surfen op het internet via de gratis WiFi. De open lay-out betekent dat u zelfs tijdens het koken of dineren naar de golven kunt kijken.

    Uitgerust met roestvrijstalen apparaten, kookgerei en servies, heeft de keuken zo ongeveer alles wat u nodig heeft; alles wat je te bieden hebt is eten en een eetlust. De eethoek biedt plaats aan 6 aan tafel en nog eens 3 aan de aangrenzende ontbijtbar. Voor extra gemak heeft de Calypso 1806 West een natte bar, zodat u uzelf kunt helpen met drankjes zonder de chef-kok in de keuken te storen.

    Terwijl alle 3 de slaapkamers heerlijk rustgevend zijn, is de master suite een waar genot. U kunt de zonsopgang bekijken vanaf het kingsize bed, of u kunt rechtstreeks vanuit de kamer het balkon op. Naast een flatscreen-tv van 43 inch heeft de master suite een eigen badkamer met dubbele wastafels.

    De 2e slaapkamer is voorzien van een queensize bed, waardoor Calypso 1806 West ook geschikt is voor 2 stellen, net als voor een gezin. De 3e slaapkamer is voorzien van stapelbedden. Elk van deze slaapkamers heeft ook een eigen tv. Ze delen de 2e complete badkamer, die net als de master een gecombineerde douche / bad heeft. Extra gasten kunnen slapen op de bank in de woonkamer, die uitkomt op een queensize bed.

    Hoewel de slaapkamers voldoende opslagruimte bieden, kunt u tijdens uw verblijf in Calypso 1806 West licht inpakken. Niet alleen bieden wij alle schone handdoeken en ander linnengoed dat u eventueel nodig zou kunnen hebben, maar de unit heeft ook een eigen wasmachine en droger.

    Net zo ontspannend en gastvrij als Calypso 1806 West, zul je er waarschijnlijk niet zoveel tijd in steken. Het strand ligt immers op slechts een steenworp afstand. Het is niet nodig om uw auto op te laden met een uitrusting van een dag; je kunt heen en weer slenteren als je wilt. Ga 's morgens vissen op Russell-Fields Pier (de langste pier aan de golf), ga daarna naar het strand om te zwemmen of te peddelen; keer later terug om schelpen te zoeken; kom terug om de glorieuze zonsondergang te bekijken of zoek naar sterrenbeelden in de met sterren bezaaide hemel.

    Er is nog veel meer in de buurt te doen. Zowel het winkel- en entertainmentcomplex Pier Park als het Gulf World Marine Park liggen op minder dan 10 minuten lopen, en WonderWorks en ZooWorld zijn enkele van de attracties binnen 15 minuten rijden. Tijdens het seizoen (mei-oktober) zijn 2 gratis strandstoelen en een paraplu gratis beschikbaar.

The unit seemed to be under renovation and the floor had cracks and some wall tiles off. Other then that it was amazing views.

Great location

Two rooms were great. The bunk beds were smaller than twin size and did not fit my teenagers. Also no closet in bunk bed room which made it very tight. There was no beach chair ser⁷vice as advertised but plenty of beach chairs in the condo. Accent wall panels missing on peninsula and kitchen floor areas in need of repair. Other condos we've rented in the area provided basic seasonings like salt & pepper, foil, cooking pil, tissues, napkins.

Significant problems with the condo. Kitchen sink faucet wobbled and leaked. Pots and pans were so disgusting we had to buy some to use. The floor in the kitchen was broken and sagging in one place. There was little water pressure. Overall would not recommend.

Calypso vacation

The condo was centrally located, great view from the balcony, good size pool. The actual unit wasn’t as well maintained as we expected. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean. The floors were very dirty and sandy, we even found food on the floor. Some of the dishes were put away dirty from the dishwasher. The faucet in the guest bath tub broke the first day. Luckily maintenance was able to fix it the next day. We received a call as soon as we arrived about the hot water heater leaking and were told someone would come and see to it. No one did and the water leaked into the 3rd bedroom and out into the hallway. We contacted maintenance about it and were told it needed to be replaced. We still had hot water to shower but had to deal with wet floors. While we enjoyed the beach we will not be returning to this property.

Lots of little stuff that took away from a good experience

A lot of little (easily fixable) things that took away from what could have been a great experience: Ants at the pool, the dirty pool tile from sunscreen and such, beach access full of sand (someone fell on the steps). Our a/c stopped working and couldn't get a hold of anyone until 9am the next morning. I couldn't find an emergency or 24hr line. The bartender at the tiki hut was rude - didn't acknowledge my husband & then lifted her phone to show him she was on a 15 minute break. We didn't go back after that. Process for beach chairs would have been nice to know (guy just told us to come back in the morning, when later we found out you can reserve for the entire stay once). And the cleaning crew showed up before our check out time but then when I called the # to say we were leaving there was no option to say leaving or operator.

The devel is in the details!

The location and views were great as pictured. Plenty of room for 4 adults. Everything was going great until trying to use the beach service that was a major factor of us choosing this property, I speak with the people setting up the chairs and umbrellas and give them our room number 2-1806. And was informed that in-fact it’s not on the list. I left 2 separate audio messages to 2 separate numbers to contact the property manager. A couple of hours later I received a text stating the previous owners said it would be included but they haven’t fixed it. Then somehow the new owners say they removed the description for included beach service… And somehow it has been added to the description again??? FYI as I’m typing this 5/13/23 it is STILL advertising the service. The problem is I paid for the entire description to only be LIED too! Do the math on 6 days beach service and that’s how much We lost.. Thanks Best Beach Getaways!!

Great location but condo needs improvements

This is our 2nd stay at Calypso Resort, but a different unit. The negatives: There was pretty significant damage to the kitchen island, with drywall showing where decorative planks were removed. It appeared there was likely water damage because the floor was also rotten and sinking in one area of the kitchen/hallway. Pots and pans were rusted and scraped, to the extent they could not be used without something to line or cover. Oven door handle was loose. Each room had a smart tv, but we were unable to watch any local channels to plan for weather/events, because there was no cable (or if there was, we couldn’t figure it out). Overall these things are minor, we enjoyed eating out over cooking and the “construction” needs were more of a shock because I wasn’t expecting to see broken wood and exposed drywall or sinking floors. The location and view are beautiful the unit is spacious with 2 large bathrooms and close access to the elevators, which are surprisingly efficient for such a large resort. Parking in the attached garage is nice and always available and grounds were always clean. Access to beach chairs through the resort is great, but unit also had lots of beach items in the laundry closet as well.

Cleanliness was horrible. Dog hair everywhere.

The condo was not clean by any means. We spent the first 2 hours cleaning up dog hair everywhere. On the stove, the counter tops, sheets, couched , chairs , and even on the outside balcony. I mean everywhere. That’s why we always choose a no pets allowed room due to my kids having bad allergies to pet dander. I vacuumed all the furniture and it was full of dust and animal hair. The floor in the kitchen was stained and sticky where is wasn’t mopped. There was a pill left on the door in the kitchen. I did message the host and she told me to message the manager. They did offer the next day to come reclean my room. lol but we had already spent the previous day cleaning. I told them I didn’t want anyone to come “re clean” it I was just like some kind of compensation for having to clean our own room. They told us someone’s else would be contacting me. Nobody ever did. I even messaged again and nothing nor nobody messaged me back. The beds was aweful, hard as a rock. I might as well slept on the floor. Definitely will not be back to this condo. Very disappointed for what I paid for the room. I have never had any issues booking condos we go every year. But will not return to this condo.

Absolutely not worth the money - do not recommend!

The check in process was not the issue, we actually got into our condo sooner than expected. They allowed us to use the parking garage before we were able to check into our condo even, so we went & enjoyed the beach in the mean time. It was the condo itself & lack of control of other tenants. I’ll start with the condo, dirty. Upon arrival it was dirty. I expect there to be sand in every nook and cranny but dang...... it was all over the floor, our feet were black after walking around barefoot in the condo. We were loading our groceries into the fridge & the shelves were so janky, I ended up removing one because I didn’t want it to break. The wood flooring is literally chipping away, specifically around the dishwasher, which a couple days into our stay the dishwasher started leaking due the the leak guard strip thing being out of place, which I’m assuming has had to of happened before because the floor is chipping and peeling away really bad there & it looks as if it’s molding. There were also multiple soft spots throughout the condo on the flooring. Safety concern - the balcony door does not lock & i have a curious 2 year old, so my anxiety was through the roof. Another safety concern, the door handles are definitely far from child proof, my 2 year old could easy pop the front door open if we didn’t latch the lock (preventing the rest of our family from coming in regardless if they put the door code in). The plumbing, I don’t even know what was happening with that. Our toilets were clogging up every other flush, the dishwasher somehow backed up our kitchen sinks to the point we had standing water in them. Which a maintenance man came & fixed that also. We had problems with the younger kids partying next door. (which, believe me I get it because I’ve been young too) I let it go for 3 nights before I got tired of hearing them slam their doors, banging on walls/doors, hooting & hollering. They don’t enforce any “quiet time” policy. & to top off the condo, the gosh darn elevators. Two out of the three were out of service so everyone on all 23 floors were trying to get on & off. At one point we waited literally 30 minutes. Then the only elevator that worked didn’t have a sense of direction, probably because everyone on every floor was pressing buttons. Would not recommend this condominium, nor will I ever be back. I spent way too much money on a crap condo.

Fall Break 2021

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Calypso. The condo was nice and In a great location. It would be nice if beach chairs were included like they are in other rentals we have stayed in there. We will be back next year.

Location was perfect! The unit wasn’t as clean as others we’ve stayed in. The floors were still very dirty. Has some maintenance issues to start and had a hard time getting in touch with someone. Tried to contact someone with Best Beach Properties several times before and after our departure and never could get in touch with anyone. Called multiple times, left several voicemails along with sending about 6 or so emails and have still yet to hear from anyone, so definitely will not use them ever again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping at Pier Park. The only thing is parking is across the street. Although there is an enclosed walkway on the 3rd floor, it's still a bit inconvenient, especially bringing all your luggage, beach stuff, groceries, etc... Took a few trips to get everything in for 6 people. The other thing is the luggage carts. Wasn't a big problem when we got there but leaving was crazy. No carts available. Had to ask people if they were done with the carts. Need more carts, especially during weekends and bust times of the year,

Great location but could not sleep 6

Check in was a mess. Parking passes were not emailed to the right email (but the rental agreement was) and we could not get into our unit. Had to leave a message and stand outside until I called a second time. We had to ask our grandparents not to come because the teens with us could not fit on the bunk beds in the 3rd bedroom.

Wonderful trip!

We had a great time. Location is perfect to easily walk to Pier Park. Condo was clean with plenty of space. Parking and getting in was a breeze! We would definitely stay here again!
