« Ocracoke in the early spring is always a treat and this visit did not disappoint. Red Beard's Retreat is a little gem one block off Hwy 12 across from the village Variety store. Our unit was comfortably furnished and check-in was seamless. We had everything we needed and the housekeeper, Maria, lived upstairs and was always available to answer any questions we had. « The place was beautiful and the location was perfect. Walking to shops and restaurants was so easy. The waterfront was a block away. There was a pavilion you could look right at from the balcony or sit at the benches next to it. They had music on the weekend. The owner was super friendly, they even had wine and water in the fridge. You won't be disappointed in this nice place. »

« This studio apartment had everything we needed and extra. Diane was great to communicate with and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen worked well for our short stay. Even though there are no windows there is lots of lighting and mirrors. It was an easy walk to the beach. If you want a view of the ocean this isn’t the place for you, however. »

The house was spacious and accommodated our group of 13; however, the house is in need of updating. The dryer went out during our stay but was repaired but all appliances need to be upgraded.
