Blokhutten in Old Fort

'This place is FANTASTIC!! It's quiet, peaceful, and has incredible views of the mountains. Don't let the drive up intimidate you because it is worth it!! The hosts are so nice and have paid attention to all the details that made staying here special, from the automatic nightlight in the bathroom to the games in the living area. I have now convinced myself I need a small cabin tucked high in the woods because I didn't want to leave. Black Mountain and Montreat are small towns with so much charm...

'We stayed there recently and we absolutely loved the pool and the hot tub. Shaun and Jody are amazing hosts. Our cabin as one of the cabins that isn’t quite remodeled yet but it’s in great condition and was big enough for an entire family ! It was spotless and the bed was comfortable. My only wish list was to have a mountain view but for the price I’d definitely stay there again. We loved how close we were to the lake and Chimney Rock. Great place to relax and breathe in the fresh air.'

'Easy check in! Follow directions from host rather than maps'

'We were looking for a quiet cabin with mountain views and a hot tub that wasn’t toooooo remote and that’s exactly what this is. Property is surrounded by other houses but we only saw one other person the entire time (and one bear minding his own business walking down the street). Check-in and out were low stress and easy. House was nicely kept up and clean without feeling too fancy to be comfortable. Fooseball table and hot tub were fun. Comfortable beds! Appreciated the nightlights for the...

'Great place , would stay there again.'

'We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. Everything was clean and tidy! Such a cozy place in the mountains. It was perfect for our little family getaway. The owners were kind and responsive and even checked on us when they heard a storm warning had come through! We love Black Mountain and are so glad to have a place to come back and stay next time!'

'The property was great and the perfect stay for my family.'

'This cabin is in a perfect location, with stunning a long views and an outdoor hot tub. The pros include wide open floor plan, great shower, plenty of linens and easy to use entertainment. The cons are the whole place feels a little bit shabby, with all the woodwork caulked but not finished, lots of stinkbugs inside, and poorly equipped, mis-matched kitchen gear. Foot plate on the stove had fallen off. There was firewood for the fire but no working lighter. Just little stuff. I would...

'Had a wonderful time at the Fiddle Creek cabin! The hosts are terrific, and everything in the cabin is just what I needed; excellent space with nice appointments including the artwork, furnishings and core kitchen equipment. The back porch is a real delight. If you are looking for a little retreat embedded in nature, this is your spot.'

'Lovely property. Excellent shower. Not very comfortable porch seating.'

'Very lovely 2 day stay...beautifully decorated and had all necessities...also option of early check in or late check for 25 if availability is possible...nice place to chill and enjoy...'
