« Room was clean although some area in bathroom need touching up. It was satisfactory for our short stay & reasonably priced. Staff welcoming on arrival. Great to have pub next door to get breakfast & dinner when needed. »

« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« Very clean room with a large bathroom area. Excellent breakfast and had meal in pub the evening before which was spot on. Was lucky to have a sea view and was awoken by a fantastic sunrise. »

« We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again. »

« Furniture and fittings very antiquated. Bedding very old and worn, bed linen did not look clean and fresh. Bathroom shower looks as if mould growing around base, not hot water to the basin, towels very worn and ruff. Breakfast very poor, left on landing to help yourself, cereal and fruit only not worth the payment charged. Parking not easy and very limited particularly for the larger car. Expedia stated only one room left that clearly was not the situation. Definitely not value for money. »

« La Rosa is one on it's own. It's a unique place to stay. If you're wanting the general grey, black and white decorations then don't go there. It is Victorian in style and they have obviously searched all over to find little artifacts to match the theme of the rooms, each one different. The views over the harbour and wide open sea and over to the Abbey are incredible. The staff are really friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. John the dog will bark...

« Staff very helpful, amazing location so easy to get around various beauty spots. Park& Ride across the road. Access to Whitby so easy. Disabled visitors catered for. Staff decorated our room ( which was amazing) for my birthday. Lovely surprise. »

« Such a lovely traditional pub with good accommodation, situated in a pretty rural setting, a short drive away from Pickering. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My husband and I had an evening meal in the pub which was excellent, as was breakfast the following morning. Pet friendly. Would definitely recommend the Horseshoe Inn. »
