    Overall the place was fine inside. It worked for our small family. I was disappointed with the views and poorly kept shared beach style patio. We were also expecting a beach right off the back patio but instead it’s just rocks but I guess that’s Oceanside. Parking was hit or miss with other families staying there but there was plenty of street parking.

    Quick Stay by the Beach

    We stoayed 2 nights to soak up sun and enjoy the ocean. The toaster did not work in our unit but figured out how to toast bread. The place is very clean and beautifully located on the Ocean.

    Unit 5. This home does NOT have a beach! More like a rocky shore (sometimes)- Even at low tide the shore is not walkable. If you have littles or weak swimmers forget about it. The "private patio" is shared and 2/3 of it is reserved for unit 1. You can't see the waves hitting the shore over the rock wall anyway (you have to stand or go through a tiny gate to some massive rocks to sit). This home is apartment style, so you will share with 4 other families. While you don't see one another inside the home, you will share parking (which is tiny and only has three spaces, it is also first come first serve - be aware street sweepers come through every other Monday. And this street is extremely busy). You will share common areas outside.Unit 5 does NOT have a view of the ocean. At all. Bring your own pan if you hate Teflon. Fan was broken. AC works.To get to the beach you will need to drive for 10 minutes and pay for parking (bring quarters for meters (25c for 10min) and small bills for lots- where the card machine is often not functioning). We thought we would drive here & park for the weekend but we spent hours driving. I wish I would have known. I would have paid the 100/night extra somehwere else to not waste so much time, gas and lot fees.The best part was that the host's contact is quick to respond and the master bed is comfy.You will receive your check in information the day of, which stressed me out, as I enjoy having everything ready before I leave.

    The unsecured toilet and no furnishings for soap, shampoo, etc in bathroom was kinda difficult. The outside/door light never did work correctly. Your quickness on resolving our issues was second to none,. Extremely quick, thank you! We'll definitely consider this VRBO on our next visit.

    The unit that I am in does not have beachfront access. It is designated to the other units and it almost feels like you are disturbing their privacy when you walk back there so it’s not for everyone. The gate was locked and we were not given a gate code and had to hop the gate. We couldn’t get anyone on the phone and when we did, no one called us back for a long time. The fridge was broke and a few other things I can’t remember them all. The home was clean but the entire listing was false

    Falls short of description!

    Just my take on what I thought I was renting and what was actual. There is no beach , you have a few feet of sand in front of a sea wall. You only have three lawn chairs. Your description never mentioned a roped of section for unit one only either! How can you honestly suggest that unit 5 can have 6 people , seriously. The couch smelt awful. Parking is horrible. The location is sketchy, homeless everywhere. Sleeping and setting up tents in the park where I wanted to walk my dog. Dog are allowed which is great but unit number 4 which I shared a deck with allowed there dog to poop there and not clean up. Also housekeeping needs to step it up. Lots of trash under the couch. Would like to have known you had rat traps with peanut butter, having a dog. The internet was always going in and out. Disappointed.

    Decent stay

    Location and neighborhood good. Lots of stairs! Parking not so great, even “spaces” provided very low and tight. For compact car only. Great walking paths nearby for exercise, but nothing really within walking distance. Smaller than described, but comfortable. Definitely in need of some upgrades…cabinets and such wouldn’t close, bathroom very dated and won’t. 4th & 5th unit share common grass area. Not a huge deal, but wasn’t known ahead of time. Unit gets very hot, and air takes a long time to cool it down. Overall decent stay, not sure that it would be first on my list to return too.

    Beach access and proximity to Legoland combine summer pleasures of sun and fun brief vacation

    Overall, this property served its purpose very well, which was to be close to both legoland and the beach in Oceanside, CA. It was clean, sunny, and the grandkids loved the porch access from the condo, and the fire pit on the outside porch made for a beach camping vibe and roasting marshmallows! Another plus is its proximity to a fantastic Breakfast and Coffee stand just a few blocks away that opens for coffee at 7 am and serves really good breakfast food and smoothies from 8-1pm.

    We liked the place and the location. It was annoying that the AC was on a timer and the BBQs had broken burners. We loved the sandy backyard and access to the ocean. We also loved the propain fire pit.

    Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was terrible. If I could find a more suitable word, it would be disaster. This rental was filthy (we were assured that every unit is deep cleaned and sanitized between renter) our feet were black from the floors. The screens aren’t all the way on, the ac units don’t work well or stay on. The power kept going off and the tub is peeling paint. We had babies with us and everything they touched seemed to crumble out dust and paint etc. it was horrible. And when we reached out upon arrival to an 85 plus degree unit that the power and Acs kept turning off, we were told that they don’t do emergency service after 8pm and if we decided to go somewhere else due to the horrible conditions of the rental and the heat with our kids, we would receive no reimbursement. So basically a sorry, not sorry. When someone finally came the following day, it was like 3pm and he didn’t know what was causing it and said to request an electrician if it continued. Then, when we requested more towels, they insinuated that what they gave (1 towel and 1 beach towel for each guest) should be enough for our stay and asked if we had more than who we told them about. I’m sorry, some of us have to shower daily because of the filth of the unit and the humidity and no truly functioning ac units. 10/10 do not recommend and will never use this service again. Horrible customer care, horrible cleaning, nasty units.

    TLC needed at this property

    Between the dirty, trash filled beach area and the peeling paint, this place needs a lot of TLC. When calling for a working can opener, I was told that it is “ beachie”! No, it’s dirty and lacking all care to the property. For over $500 a night I definitely expect more than I/ we received . I am very sorry not to be able to recommend this property under any circumstance. It needs to be better managed and attended to …. Then and only then would I book this property.

    Family gathering

    Arriving was very simple using the code for the front door and there was plenty of parking in the street. The gates had key pads, but we never had to use them because they wouldn’t latch and stay closed. We stayed in unit #5 and we were generally happy with the upstairs outdoor area and the cleanliness of the unit. However, the noise from the street was a little loud, especially at night, and the refrigerator was new but too big for the area so one of the doors wouldn’t open all the way. Also, the exterior part of the property could use some TLC, especially in the downstairs areas. There is some visible termite damage on the exterior and the waves crashing over the rocks were hitting the window of unit #1 when the tide was high and getting us wet when when sitting in the private beach area. The beach area is not quite as nice as the pictures show because of the waves coming over the rocks at high tide and the broken fence by the rocks. There is a very cute park nearby that has a cafe that serves coffee and breakfast. However you would have to walk a mile or two to get to a sandy beach to sit on. Overall, the area is pretty and we did enjoy some beautiful weather and sunsets, but I don’t think I would stay there again.

    Lovely

    Really enjoyed staying at this rental. You can hear the waves and smell the ocean the entire time. There is a cute park just across the street and great location to take walks. The only thing I would mention is that the beach isn’t actually a sandy beach that you can lay out at or play at. It’s very rocky and the tide does not go down. I believe this is why they have the chairs and sand, to replicate the beach. Otherwise loved everything!

The shared deck with unit 4 was a great place to hang out any time of the day, and the views from the backyard were stunning.
