« I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida! »

« We stayed at La Lolita for a month. Location is great- walking distance to beach, restaurants, and markets. Kitchen was well equipped. David the property manager was attentive and friendly, check in was simple and explained clearly. There is construction going on next to the property which can be noisy at times, albeit this will be temporary as projects finish. Overall great stay and hope to be back. »

« Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax. »

« Hosts were great communicators and provided a healthy delicious breakfast. The gardens host a plethora of different plants and one can see a variety of different exotic birds. The room is cozy and well equipped, and the infinity pool overlooking the jungle is amazing »

« Our host Jason went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay at his place. We had support in getting to use a local pool, with groceries and transportation to our next location to mention a few. If you need local insights and super hospitality then go with Jason. The location is in a quiet local neighbourhood and it feels safe to have kids running around outside. Walking to the beach is possible, but can be a bit hard for little ones up to 4 years old (especially considering the heat). Go to...
