North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here. This home is ideally located within close proximity to numerous New Orleans landmarks including (Jackson Square (2.5 Miles), Caesar's Superdome/Smoothie King Center (1.3 Miles), The National WWII Museum (2.5 Miles), and City Park (3.8 Miles).

Cooler evenings and crisp air settle over Mid-City this time of year, and this single-level home gives you a comfortable home base between parade watching, festival hopping, and quiet nights in. With a fenced backyard, private patio, and an easy layout for up to six guests, it's built for groups who want their own space to spread out after a day exploring New Orleans.

Living space
The open-concept living area is where everyone naturally gathers - settle in on the couch for a movie night with the 50-inch HDTV (Hulu and Netflix included), or set up at the dedicated workspace, located in its own room with a door, if you need to get some work done. Ethernet and wifi are both on hand for anyone needing a reliable connection.

Sleeping arrangements
Three bedrooms hold three beds between them, dressed in bed linen and room-darkening blinds so late sleepers can rest easy after a long night out. Clothes storage comes via wardrobe in the rooms, and an iron and hangers are on hand for anyone needing to freshen up before a night out. The two full bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, hairdryer, and towels, so you can pack light.

Kitchen & dining
Home-cooked meals are easy here. The kitchen is fitted with a Frigidaire stainless steel electric cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, plus cooking basics, crockery and cutlery, a baking sheet, and a filter coffee maker. Wine glasses and coffee are provided, and the dining table gives the group a spot to sit down together at the end of the day.

Outdoor living
Step out to the private patio or back garden, which is fully fenced - a nice spot for morning coffee before heading out, or for letting a pet stretch its legs in the evening. The private entrance and single-level layout (no stairs) make coming and going simple after a day on your feet.

Family-friendly touches
Traveling with little ones is made easier with a cot, travel cot, and folding or convertible high chair, all available upon request with padding, straps, and food tray, plus babysitter recommendations if you need an evening out.

Practical details
Central air conditioning, central heating, and a ceiling fan keep things comfortable regardless of the weather outside. A washer and dryer are available in-unit, free on-street parking is nearby, and self check-in with a smart lock means arrival is on your schedule. Cleaning is available during your stay, and the home is equipped with a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher, and first aid kit, along with exterior security cameras present to prevent illegal over-occupancy or parties.

You're just blocks from the Canal Streetcar line, with easy access to the Endymion parade route, City Park, the Superdome, and the French Quarter, making this a well-placed base for the season's lineup of events - from NOLA ChristmasFest and New Year's Eve fireworks to the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Twelfth Night, Krewe du Vieux, and Mardi Gras Day.
