'Me, my husband and our two kids got into our room and when I was putting our things away I found women’s used panties on the floor. I told the front desk and was moved to a new room without a discount or upgrade. The new room had stains all over the blankets and brown hair on the beds. I LOVE the fireside inn in Belfast Maine so I figured the Portland fireside would be similar and I was absolutely disgusted and shocked. $180 for nasty rooms.'

'Most of the parking was around at the back of the building and it was a bit secluded and did not feel very secure. The pictures we saw of the building on line were not of the actual building or rooms. The check-in time was 3:00pm but there were no rooms ready when we got there at 3:00pm. furniture was rough and the wall paper was coming off the walls. Also the A/C unit was not working.'

'Expensive for the quality offered. The room had a strong, unpleasant humid and musty smell that made the stay uncomfortable. Overall, the condition and comfort of the hotel did not match the price we paid. For this price range, I expected a much cleaner, fresher, and better-maintained room.'

'Loved this property! Right next door to the airport, but hardly ever heard the planes. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast and manager reception was top notch. They have an airport screen in the lobby showing real time arrivals and departures. Definitely would stay again!'

'Close by to Hadlock Field. Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was fairly clean. Found pieces of food in a couple places. Bathroom could use a fan to rid of steam from the shower. Room we had was noisy from the I-295 traffic.'

'It was the first week of opening, so I give them kudos on everything except that we did not have a working TV, no ice machine in sight, and only the bathroom outlets worked. It is a great location as we stayed there for a concert and enjoyed the Bissel Bros brewery. Staff super friendly amid a very busy opening, But we were not offered anything to make up for our lack of TV and outlet use.
In spite of that, would certainly go there again when going to the concert venue. I am sure these bugs...
