First off, I want to say that the front desk staff were very kind and approachable this review has nothing to do with them, as they were helpful and professional.
That said, I feel like I essentially paid nearly $750 just for being in Napa, not for the quality of the stay. The first room we were given was not thoroughly cleaned, especially the bathroom. After bringing this to the front desk’s attention, the gentleman there quickly arranged a new room for us, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. It seemed like the bathroom had either just been used or hadn’t been cleaned properly, there was hair all over the floor and shower area.
At that point, we realized this was the standard we’d have to accept. I even ended up going to a nearby store to buy bathroom cleaner so I could clean it myself.
Then there was the bed, mediocre at best. The sheets weren’t what was advertised, and the mattress was quite uncomfortable. Overall, the experience was far below what my partner and I are used to, but we stayed at the Hampton because most other hotels were fully booked.
I just wish the property lived up to the expectations set by its online and TV advertisements. My advice to future guests: ask to see the room before handing over your credit card.
