« Excellent onsen hotel right at the end of the first day of the Kohechi Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. I came for the onsen and mountain seclusion, but they had such good maps of the Kohechi at the front desk that I decided to walk back to Koyasan the day I checked out. It’s about 20km through the mountains from Nosegawa Onsen to Koyasan, walking on a mix of well-kept trails and paved roads; overall, a moderately difficult hike with very good signage.
I highly recommend Kohechi hikers to stay at...

« This hotel was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The hotel rooms have a proper ryokan feel and the hotel staff are the nicest people I have came across in Japan. We didn’t even ask them for a shuttle pick up from our bus stop but a car with a driver was already there They provide free shuttle to and fro Sukurai station which I wish I knew from before. Oh and the views from the rooms are just exquisite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. My only regret is that...

« Tucked away above the bar/cafe, this onsen was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were very traditional in the Japanese style, and we had access to the entire area as we were the only guests staying on that night. The staff were completely lovely and helpful. The showers and toilets were well kept and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect to walk around and explore Koyasan. Definitely worth a visit! »

« Wonderful stay. Lovely kaiseki dinner. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The hot spings were clean and very relaxing after a long day walking and driving. Oh and the view from the room in the morning across the valley was stunning »

« Merveilleux séjour au beau temple Ekoin, accueil attentionné.
Chambre supérieure spacieuse à la fois traditionnelle et avec des équipements modernes. Très propre. Repas très copieux, joliment présentés et plein de saveurs à découvrir.
Bain dans le temple.
Possibilité de participer aux cérémonies des moines ( prière, méditation et goma ).
Proche du cimetière Okunoin. »

« We lost our iPhone in a restaurant. With hotel staff we managed to find it on next day. Even they don’t speak English but with their attitude it helps.
Thank you the front desk staff. »

« This place is a haven of peace, the hosts are warm and attentive, the private onsen is extremely relaxing, and the food is superb. Nothing more to say except don't hesitate to experience it.
If i come back to Japan it's for sure a go to place ! »

« Our stay in the temple was a really special way to end our trip in Japan. We really appreciated the serenity of the location and the grounds. The interaction with the monks was lovely.
This type of stay is not for everyone please have you expectations set to get the most out of this experience.
Check in closes at 5pm. This is because dinner (include in half board) is served at 5.30pm. The meal consists of a traditional Japanese Buddhist meal of about 10 dishes including tofo, rice, soup,...
