« Excellent onsen hotel right at the end of the first day of the Kohechi Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. I came for the onsen and mountain seclusion, but they had such good maps of the Kohechi at the front desk that I decided to walk back to Koyasan the day I checked out. It’s about 20km through the mountains from Nosegawa Onsen to Koyasan, walking on a mix of well-kept trails and paved roads; overall, a moderately difficult hike with very good signage. « This hotel was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The hotel rooms have a proper ryokan feel and the hotel staff are the nicest people I have came across in Japan. We didn’t even ask them for a shuttle pick up from our bus stop but a car with a driver was already there They provide free shuttle to and fro Sukurai station which I wish I knew from before. Oh and the views from the rooms are just exquisite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. My only regret is that...
