Homely holiday let, well furnished comfortable home within walking distance of the seaside town of Amble.

Amble has a small fishing harbour where you can watch the catch of the day arriving. Pods form a small retail village selling a variety of art, crafts, jewellery, food and drinks, and a Sunday market. There are many good quality restaurants, cafes and friendly pubs in the town and surrounding area, as well as as good quality local shops.

You can visit the nearby Hauxley nature reserve or walk for miles on unspoilt beaches, Amble is also an ideal base to explore our beautiful Northumberland coast line. The market town of Alnwick with the famous Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden is only 9 miles to the north and definitely worth a visit, you could also pop in to Barter Books one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britan, which includes a cafe where in the winter you can sit next to a roaring open fire.

Rachael’s Rest truly is a comfortable home from home, with everything you could need.

Rachael’s Rest truly is a home away from home. It is relaxing, comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a break. We were pleased to have the option of dining out or eating in depending on how we felt on the day. Very convenient with having a Morrisons store close by. We would definitely stay here again should we be in the area.

Restful Holiday

We use self-catering accommodation once or twice a year and this is one of the best we have stayed in. Bruce got in touch beforehand and was very helpful. There was a wonderful welcome pack awaiting our arrival and he checked via text while we were there. After leaving he kindly informed me of an item that was found and is sending it on. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or better hosts.

Rachel’s Rest is such a comfy immaculately clean accomadation. We stayed 4 nights. It was home from home everything you need is at hand. Fully equipped kitchen comfy beds. Ten minute walk into amble where ther is restaurants cafes and pubs. The area where Rachel’s Rest is is really quiet and has a pretty back garden with table and chairs. The communication with the hosts Bruce and Maureen was excellent. So worth a visit and stay.

The proprerty is highly suitable for two people - it is very well equipped, very well presented and spotlessly clean. The location allowed us easy access to all points from Hadrians Wall to Berwick on Tweed. Excellent welcome pack too!

Lovely place to stay.

What a lovely base from which to explore the coast of Northumberland. Rachael's rest was scrupulously clean, modern and welcoming. The touches and treats added by Bruce and Maureen, the property owners were very much appreciated. It was also great to have a property with off-street parking. The property is situated within a ten minute walk into the small town of Amble as well as a quiet beach. We very much enjoyed sampling the delights of Amble. We would highly recommend The Fish Shack, La Famiglia, The Taj Mahal and Radcliffe's Cafe Bar.
