'This is a historic, charming old home. With that, expect to use stairs to reach your room. We stayed a week and had housekeeping service only twice during our stay. The desk staff was very accommodating and filled our request for toilet paper and towels quickly, with a smile. They made us feel very at home and welcome. 'This type of stay was just not for me. I got a message to call 30 minutes before we get there. The number you call is a personal cell phone. I had to ask if they were the hotel. At that time is when O found out its cash only do I had to find a bank to withdraw funds. You don't get a key, you're asked to take a photo of a paper with your room code on it. You can't touch the thermostat as it controls temperature in multiple rooms. After check in the office door is closed and locked. You have to...

'Keep in mind that this is a boutique hotel. The elevators & lobby are a little bit tight, but that's not a problem for us at all. We chose this hotel because it's walking distance to Ford Field, so that was a huge plus. Location was great for what we needed. The parking is pricey at $50 for valet parking overnight. 'We had an early morning flight, so we opted to stay in Detroit and dine at the hotel. The hotel’s a cool remodeled fire house and bank , the location was conveniently situated just off the highway. The staff was exceptional, and the food was really good. What more could I possibly want?! Additionally, as a platinum member at Expedia , I was pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated.'

'Love this place! Our flight was modified and we arrived much earlier than the usual check in time. They tried to get us a room asap, but had been sold out the night before. So we just had to nap on the lobby sofas until our room was ready. And as soon as it was, they immediately checked us in. Such a fun hotel Art Deco style and the history of the building before is really awesome. This hotel is fun, clean and quiet. To return to Detroit, this will be my top selection.'

'Perfect location if attending events at ford field. Room was larger than expected and very clean. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. Valet wait was long but with the special events going on it was to be expected'
