This Slaughter Beach Cozy Cottage is looking forward to sharing the beautiful beach with new visitors. The property is located directly across from public beach access so your feet will never get tired of walking to the beach. The cottage features Wi-Fi access and cable TV. However, lounging or reading a book on the screened in patio is sometimes just as relaxing. The cottage is located on two lots with a beautiful view of the Nature Preserve so you will have plenty of space for outdoor fun, bunny or bird watching in addition to your own privacy. There is a spacious outdoor patio area for sunset dinners. Recent renovations include all new floors and ceiling fans in addition to a tankless hot water heater, air conditioning, a brand new washer and dryer and an outdoor shower for added convenience. The tankless hot water system allows for endless amounts of hot water for all of the guests!


The cottage is fully furnished and recently renovated. You will find everything you need if you plan on cooking during your stay. There is a gas stove and oven, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is even a grill outside for your convenience.

We offer guests the option to use our linens at no additional fee however, outdoor beach towels, beach chairs, and coolers will need to be supplied by the guests.

During your stay you should expect to see horseshoe crabs, numerous birds and wildlife. The bay at Slaughter Beach offers guests a more relaxing time playing in the water. The waves are small and the tide is remarkable. You will find when the tide is high you can sail boats, swim laps, fish right from the beach and kayak for hours. However when the tide is low you will find an open ocean bottom waiting to be discovered. Take a walk in the bay and discover what lies beneath.

Slaughter Beach is located North of Rehobeth Beach and Lewes, Delaware. The Tanger Outlets are close by and offer approx. 130 brand name outlets along the 3 mile stretch of Route 1. Near the Tanger Outlets you will find Midway Speedway Park, an exciting family attraction. It has 5 go-kart tracks for all skill levels in addition to 18 holes of miniature golf.

We had a wonderful time at this adorable beach cottage across the street from the beach! Our 5 yo and dog had a blast at the beach! We even got to see some neat critters such as bats, foxes, and a variety of shore birds. Some more electrical outlets throughout the cottage as well as hand soap would have made the stay even better but good times were still had! We would definitely stay here again!

My family had a wonderful vacation here, and we very much enjoyed the peace and quiet that Slaughter Beach provided. The host was wonderful, and helped us through a small snag with sleeping arrangements before we even realized there was an issue. There is no pull out couch, any longer, and we were expecting to use it, but they set us up with a blow up mattress right away. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook---the only thing I wished it had was a little more of a pantry space to put the foods we had brought along.

I booked this property due to the close proximity to my son’s tournament. It turned out to be so much more than a convenient location! It is an absolutely beautiful home and property, full of nature. It is so much bigger than it appears and is immaculately clean. The beach is less than a minute walk across the street and is perfect for long walks. We loved that is was a horshoe crab sanctuary, and did our part to flip any crabs that were turned over due to a storm. We hope to stay here again if we are in the area.

Cozy, clean & bright

We were looking for a quiet place to relax and we found it here. The house was very cozy with well-equipped kitchen. The beach was just across the road for sunrise viewing and long walks. The sunset from the back porch was beautiful. We saw the neighborhood fox a couple of times. All this and it’s just a short drive to Milford's store’s & restaurants.

Spoiled vacation

Getting to the tranquil cottage was “interesting”, it’s on a natural reserve, with a beach full of dead horse crabs, and blood sucking flies as well as mosquitos. My wife was bitten and bloody, and had an allergic reaction. Being with a baby, we realized this was a bad idea. We didn’t feel secure in the house, windows exiting the bathroom had no curtains, the house was not cleaned, the floors were full of sand, black long human hairs and short white animal hairs were found. Our 1 year old granddaughter found different snacks by the books and in the couches, such as a peanut chewy nut bar and pretzel crackers. The pack and play was dusty and stained so we did not use it. The furniture was very old, the beds were spring beds and the beds shook constantly, with old blankets that had holes in them. There were no outside lights either and it was creepy to be outside after 9pm. The WiFi only works in the main area, not in the bedrooms and the AC is in the main room, therefore you have to sleep with the doors open, or the fan on in your room. The location and home reminded me of a scary movie. There was a very strict list of everything that needs to be done upon departing the location, such as vacuuming, and taking off bed sheets. We cleaned up after the people that stayed there and had to clean up after ourselves. If we knew the truth about the cottage we would Have never ever stayed here. All the good beaches are 30-40 minutes away from the cottage.

Beautiful Beach Cottage

We had a wonderful trip. The cottage and surrounding area was just as pictured. The place was clean, well stocked, and offered plenty of space, huge bonus for having sheets and towels so we didn't have to pack them. We were thrilled to be able to bring our two elderly dogs. The beach was clean and beautiful, buggy bear the cottage but that was expected.

Perfect getaway

We absolutely loved staying in this perfect little cottage, literally right across from beach access. The location was perfect, and my son also loved the playground right down the street. The outside shower was an added bonus for sandy, wet feet and for our dog who loves swimming. We wanted quiet, safe and dog friendly and that's exactly what we got🙂

Great Property, Great Location

We stayed here while visiting my family for Christmas, so we were only in the beach house to sleep. The property was spotless and spacious, and I always appreciate contactless check-ins. My family of 5, including 3 young adult children, had ample space to spread out. The location is perfect. Although it was December, we walked the beach each morning. It is literally across the street. The National Wildlife Refuge is less than a mile away. I saw snow geese in the pond there on my run. The host was very responsive. We had trouble with the wifi on Christmas Eve, and she had it fixed immediately. Thanks for a wonderful stay and wonderful memories.
