'This was a lovely old charming house in a great location—lots of space and a nice garden. One of the bedrooms and bathrooms is located on the basement/garden level and has some sewage-like odor, so sleeping in that space did not work out for us. The house was otherwise very convenient but hot since no AC was available. Unfortunately, construction in the neighborhood was happening from 7 am to 6 pm on both sides of the house, and the noise levels (73bD) were stressful. Communication was ok;...

'We hebben een heerlijke week gehad met de hele familie (7 volwassenen) in Casa do Rio. In het riante huis met 4 slaapkamers en 4 badkamers was er veel ruimte ruimte voor iedereen, ook in de woonkamer. We hebben vooral genoten van het terras en de tuin waar we met een prachtig uitzicht konden borrelen en eten. Bij mooi weer hebben we veel rondom en in het zwembad gezeten en bij minder mooi weer bood het biljart uitkomt. De omgeving is prachtig en vele uitstapjes waard. Onze gastvrouw was goed...

'Het is fantastisch mooi huis, grote vertrekken en een mooie patio met een lekker zwembad. De eigenaars hebben smaak en laten dat zien in de inrichting van het huis. Pure gezelligheid. Maria, de host, is goed bereikbaar en geeft goede adviezen voor een aangenaam verblijf.'

'This place in Gaia is great because we love to walk everywhere. We are a family of 5 with older teens. It is very close to the cables car entrance, which is great at sunset, and close to wonderful restaurants. Douro-Velho was so good that we went there twice for dinner in the short 3 nights that we stayed in Gaia. We are already planning our next trip to Portugal because we really needed more time. And we can’t wait to see it again soon. This is a great place to visit and spend a least a week.'
