My family of six spent the Easter weekend in this lovely home on 3rd Street in Lewes. Its historic charm was matched by modern amenities and a perfect location.
The property is very unique historically. It was very comfortable and modernized. We liked the location so close to all the restaurants and shops in Lewes. The yard is great for your pet dog. I would not recommend for someone who has difficulty with steps as they are narrow and rustic.
Location is about as great as it gets if you donât need to be right next to the beach. The house is charming, but itâs better for a family with kids than for multiple couples â the MBR is fantastic, but the other spaces are a little awkward for an adult couple. Still, itâs a very well kept property for those whoâd like to explore downtown Lewes.
Beautiful home in a great location, close to all the restaurants and shops. Short drive to the beach. Walking distance to a great waterfront playground my kids loved. There is a steep staircase that we kept the kids off off, but there was a second staircase so it wasnât a problem. Would definitely stay again.
The property was just as advertised and worked out perfectly for us and our two dogs. The fully fenced in back yard made my vacation more relaxing. We were able to walk most places and biked through the State Park. We will surely be Back.
The home was well appointed with top shelf accessories and it was exceptionally clean. My concern for anyone staying in the winter months is that the heat is uneven between the different levels. Downstairs is cool and it is extra warm upstairs. A set of steep stairs were intimidating to us and our dog,and they would be a barrier to an aged or handicapped person. We did get used to them after a few days, however.
One VRBO issue was the omission of listing that the renter would have to bring their own linens. While a linen package was offered later on, by a linen provider, the a la carte offering was pricey and I felt like it was a last minute âclipâ.
Again, we enjoyed our stay even with the quirks of the home. The location is ideal. Lewes is a vibrant town!
Love the location very close to restaurants and shops. House was top notch decor was lovely
. Only problem was coffee maker wasn't working the last day we were there'.
The home was in a great location one block from the restaurants and shopping in Lewes! The home is older, so expect narrow stairs, but was totally updated, loved the bathrooms! Had a great stay, and will def. return!
Beautifully renovated but preserves architectural history. Hand made blacksmithing on doors, plank floors, exposed brick and hand hewn ceiling rafters throughout the house. Close to all that 2nd street lewes has to offer. Sufficient parking. AC worked well, beds were comfortable. Linen package is a nice convenience. Beautiful outdoor space with fire pit and koi pond. Would not recommend for families with toddlers due to steep stairways as is typical of old houses. Great for in season if you donât need to walk to the beach. Would be perfect also for an off season rental or romantic getaway. As former residents of Lewes we highly recommend it!
We enjoyed the historic and wonky character of the home.
Make sure you get the extra sheet and towel package unless you intend to bring your own. I didnât read the fine print and missed that this was extra!
