'Comfortable hotel near Cat Ba town, with good views of the bay, and out of sight of the building work in town. We had a one night stay before a boat trip on Lan Ha and Halong Bays. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, effective Aircon, and comfortable bed, although slightly limited choice of nearby restaurants.'

'This beautiful little budget resort is nestled in a valley outside of town. No ocean views here, but in exchange you get serenity, a gorgeous garden, and an attentive staff. The food is simple and good, I really enjoyed the seafood fried rice. You can walk to the nearby hospital cave, which I found very interesting, but for other attractions they’ll book you a car or rent you a scooter.
