« From start to end of stay, the staff were excellent, knowlegable, respectful and always happy to be of assistance. The food was delicious, large portions and the beer was very good. Wonderful town to easily walk about. High social consciousness w several charities highlighted. Room was exactly as described, clean, spacious and the bed/pillows super comfy. Highly recommend. »

« I stayed at the Tavern for one night Monday 6/10/25 prior to attending a funeral. I had read previous reviews criticising road noise. Whilst it was heard,I didn’t find it an issue at all. Had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed. Superb bathroom- i loved the large soaker tub- hard to find a room with bath these days. Staff were very friendly and food was hot and tasty with portions on the large side! Would definitely stay here again. »

« Excellant breakfast choice and period of which this was great. Gym facitilities were ok but not all appeared to be in working order. Cleaan pool. Jacuzzi, steam roon and sauna. Grounds were nice and well kept. »

« From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north. »

« The apartment was truly amazing, from the minute you enter the main door, there is a wonderful fragrance. Upon entering the apartment, the deco was ver tasteful and the technology with electric blinds and a mirrored tv were amazing. Its very specious and very clean.The best place I've stayed in.The location is walking distance to everything in Kirkby Lonsdale. The owner went above and beyond, checking we were happy with everything. »
