Don't go there
Left after the first night. Maintenance has been totally neglected, place was rundown. Breakfast was really bad, coffee tastes like water, no juice nor water offered, no bread. No electricity for a large part of the day. This place should be taken out of the offer!

Overall ok cz you paid for budget resort.
Friendly staff, privacy area. No crowded people. Just resort need to improve in maintainance. Looks so old. Overall OK if you just using room for bath and sleep. Others time must spend at beach..

nampak macam resort terbiar. perabot semua nampak usang. tandas sangat kotor macam tak pernah cuci. ada tingkap yang tak boleh kunci. nyamuk banyak, besar-besar pula tu. perlu improve, kawasan dah cantik, tapi sayang resort terbiar macam tu je. makanan pun so-so je.. yg ok nye sebab layanan receptionist memang terbaik, sentiasa senyum & baik.

The staff were great and very helpful. The common area, restaurant and surroundings are nice, and it's a great beach location, a little further away from the Coral Bay beach which is very crowded on weekends. But the chalet is a bit run down, the sheets, curtains, and blanket were obviously very old and worn. Cupboards were dusty too. Don't expect superb amenities on an island getaway but clean and bright-looking would go a long way towards adding value for guests, especially since resort rates are charged.

El peor cuchitril que hemos estado en todo el viaje. Asqueroso, lleno de pelos y suciedad incrustada que ya no se podía sacar. Condiciones insalubres y no nos pudimos cambiar porque no nos querían devolver el dinero. El desayuno era de 7 a 10 i si te presentabas a las 8 ya no había nada. No tengas miedo a ir sin reservar a Kapas! Es el único lugar que ofrece reserva des de un portal y por eso los viajeros que dudamos nos tiramos a la piscina ( por cierto, en la foto dicen que tienen pero resulta que no operativa)!

We didn’t expect much, based on the reviews. It was a nice resort at one time, but it is very run down. Our first night was terrible. The bathroom ceiling leaked in multiple places and was not nice. The bedding was not very clean and there was black mould in multiple locations. The next day we complained and they were very nice about giving us a different room. It was much better, but still in need of care. We did extend our stay one more night and we are grateful that, given our frustrations, they gave us a good deal.

Ask about times electricity is turned on.
Resorts are powered by generators in the island (no powerlines). KIR did not advertise that there TURN OFF the electricity/generators between 8am-12pm and between 4pm-7pm (total 7 hours) daily!!! Poor insulation meant the rooms are HOT by 8.30am with the aircon or fan not working (note aircon rooms do not have fans, rooms have one or the other. Considering check-out is by 12pm, you could spend the rest of the 4-hour-morning struggling to relax or complaining (e.g. we did not get the aircon comfort we specifically paid for). The electricity is turned on again after 12pm checkout, but since check in is at 3pm, it meant guests only get to use the electricity for a maximum of 1 hour before 4pm power cut! The other resorts kept their power running or only turned it off for 1-2 hours, at a time, or once daily. Other than this MAJOR issue that feels like false advertising, we can accept that the KIR is old and rustic, looking like it's rundown and needs some care/maintenance kind of charm. The entrance to the jungle trekking is behind it (convenient), and it is the only accommodation in the whole island with a small pool. A simple European/American style breakfast was served as part of a package. Kapas Island Resort's location was quieter than the main party area where Coral Beach, Ombak and KBC are located.

Nada recomendable, no reservar.
El peor hotel en el que he estado nunca. Hotel depreciado y no mantenido ni reformado. Toallas de hace 20 años, no hacen limpieza de nada, ni baño, ni camas.... no iba la cisterna, vinieron y quitaron la tapa para que pulsasemos directamente desde el interior...en fin...nunca imaginé que fuese a estar tan mal.

We booked a double “superior” room and when you see it from outside seems lovely. Everything change completely when you open the door. Quite dirty, really hot, all windows opened, so plenty of insects coming... A complete nightmare. About breakfast, no words, awful. We were traveling as backpack, and have been before in bad places, but never like this. Absolutely I will never recommend.

Nice clean and pleasant room for a relaxed holiday
The rooms were comfortable and clean. Good for a relaxed holiday. Power supply was from the National Electricity Board using a solar hybrid generator for the island. The power comes on at certain hours in the afternoon and at night. The power came on as scheduled. However, the hotel / resort could not arrange for boat rides to the best snorkeling areas and kayaking facilities were lacking. I had to arrange these with a neighboring hotel. My trip to Kapas island was to enjoy these activities. The arrangement for the boat trip back was also disappointing. The hotel made arrangements with a separate boat company. Somehow the message didn't get through and the staff could only say that they have informed and couldn't do anything. I was told to wait another hour or two for the next boat. I had to call the boat company myself to get a good response.

Kleine Hütte in Strandnähe
Unser Zimmer war sehr nah am Wasser. Das serviceteam war freundlich und bemüht, aber leider konnten viele kaum englisch sprechen! Die kleine Hütte die wir gebucht hatten war zwar auf den ersten Blick sauber, aber das Bad war in einem schlimmen Zustand... Der Ablauf des Waschbeckens lief einfach auf den Boden und auch die Dusche war nicht abgetrennt von WC und Waschbecken! Beim Frühstück waren wir ebenfalls enttäuscht da es nur Reis und Nudeln gab, hier sind die Geschmäcker natürlich unterschiedlich!! Noch einmal würden wir das Ressort auf keinen Fall buchen, die Insel ist aber einen Trip wert!!

Bad service. Room is dirty. Toilet is worse! Food also equally bad. Also to note the electricity is shut off from 8am-7pm everyday as they use generator. Means no aircon,no tv also in the room.

Warning: the website was ambiguous. I thought I was booking for 2 adults and 2 children - i.e.2+3 which I understood as being 2 rooms. What we got 1 double + 1 single bed in one room. On the 2nd night we got a mattress, but the floor was so dirty I didn't want to sleep on it.

Cualquier alojamiento mejor que este. Está sucio y sin arreglar desde hace 10 años. Una tomadura de pelo y de dinero. Y para el colmo el desayuno estaba en mal estado. Nada recomendable, caro y asqueroso.

El sitio es viejo y ruinoso. El baño literalmente da asco. Las fotos que salen en su pagina web no son reales y dicen que hay TV, nevera y antimosquitos electrico..nada! Pone que lo van a renovar, pero a julio 2017 no han empezado ni hay indicios. Hemos chequeado otros bungalows y hablado con otros huéspedes y las condiciones pesimas del alojamiento eran las mismas. Lo unico positivo es que nos dejaron hacer el check-out late (3h mas tarde) sin ningún cargo adicional

Good location, not so good conditions
Pros: - it's close to the beach and offers a better stay than a tent - has air-con and electrical power - staff are friendly - food (both breakfast and restaurant) is very good - the chalet gives you privacy - own bathroom Cons: - sink not working - shower only has cold water, water pressure is quite low - room didn't look clean - there were dust bunnies all over the place, spider nets (and spiders) - bed was very bouncy and the sheets didn't look clean (consider bringing your own if you have a bit of room in luggage) - no air-con remote - you can either turn it on (max) or off - the walls were dirty and you could see through in the corners

Poor maintenance
While the location is great, the resort is very disappointing. The bathroom was not clean, the shower head put more water out horizontally than down onto the person showering, and the basin piping was so bad that any water put into the basin ended up on the floor. None of the electrical sockets worked requiring us to recharge batteries in the dining area.

Muy mal mantenido
Al llegar al Resort, la cabaña no estaba bien preparada, tuvimos que pedir las aguas, que arreglaran el aire acondicionado porque no funcionaba y bueno la limpieza del lugar dejaba mucho que desear. Pudiendo ser un lugar maravilloso debido al paisaje, tienen muy mal mantenidas las cabañas. Lo otro que no nos gustó nada fue el desayuno, nosotros viajamos con una niña de 2 años y para ella no existió ninguna alternativa en los 3 días, sólo a partir del segundo día porque alegamos pan blanco, menos mal que habíamos llevado leches, yogurt, galletas entre otras cosas.

Insects everywhere, no mosquito net so bring your own! Or more preferably choose another place. AC was effective though. Friendly youngsters seem to run the place, might have a lot to learn about hoteling but A for effort. Fantastic beaches on Kapas and a great island for snorkeling (but don't miss crossing to gem island for even better snorkeling).

Poorly maintained but can do the job.
Booked and then read terrible reviews about the "resort". Had low expectations which were met! We were upgraded to a Superior room after being shown the Standard one and saying they must be kidding for RM 150 a night. This place probably has the most rooms on the island. They are separate bungalows of varying age and quality. If it isn't busy - weekends can amazingly see the place nearly booked out - work on an upgrade. Power to rooms is not available from 8am til midday and again from 4pm til 8 pm. ie no aircon or lights. - They turn off their generator (which is close to some rooms). Cold water showers only The pool looks just OK but they don't run the filter much or use much chemical maintenance. They had an included buffet breakfast which was passable. It was an OK place to sleep and shower despite its run down state and unenthusiastic staff. Their are better places to stay but they are all more expensive than equivalents on the mainland. The last ferry is 5:30pm so you will miss the good feel of the island in the evenings if you only take a day trip.

Un séjour qui n'a heureusement duré qu'une nuit! Un hôtel qui se prétend resort, le plus cher de l'île, un accueil des plus déplorable, et une envie de fuir au plus vite de cet endroit. Un fort potentiel pour cet hôtel avec sa piscine, ses extérieurs, sa situation, malheureusement gâché par un entretien inexistant et un laisser aller complet. Les chambres sont dans un état de saleté, les blattes sont vos compagnons de nuit et rien n'est soigné contrairement aux autres hôtels testés! A ne surtout pas réserver!

Viejo, descuidado y sucio... Una pena increíble!
Lo mejor: LA ISLA. Para poder soportar l estancia en este cuchitril, salíamos a primera hora e intentábamos no pisarlo. Viejo, sucio ( lavabo con pelos de hace siglos) con humedades, el AC goteaba, por no decir casacada... Pelusas, y el desayuno de cómic: además de frío, muy escaso y bastante malo, relación calidad precio: estafa con todas las letras, hay resorts en los alrededores, a mitad de precio y en condiciones óptimas. NO REPETERIA ESTE LUGAR PARA UNA ESTANCIA EN KAPAS... pero si volveré a Kapas!
