Very cool to stay in the old French style building. Room had heaps of character and a charming little balcony. Breakfast was awesome. Would definitely stay again.

Chambre impeccable tout près du centre dans le quartier français Un peu de bruit à l’extérieur mais petit déjeuner excellent que l’on peut varier tous les jours .. Surtout la gentillesse de nos hôtes pleins d’attention et de riches conseils !!

The building was very clean, and I really liked the architecture, furniture, and decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They greeted me by name, which I appreciated. I will definitely stay there again when I go to Kampot.

This is a charming hotel in the middle of Kampot, and everything you need is within walking distance. The building is the conversion of two former shops. The room was a good size and comfortable, with a wash basin in the room and separate shower and toilet. It was two floors up and no lift — be warned. Our room also had a roof terrace, a great boon. There was a very good choice of freshly made breakfast, with the addition of home made cupcakes and biscuits as well as a plate of fruit. What really makes this place special is the hosts, Tavi and Kim. Both speak excellent English and are very helpful in arranging drivers for tours and recommending places to eat (including the excellent nearby café Le Corner, which they also run). The hotel also boasts a good book swap.

The staff at The Columns are extremely nice and helpful. The included breakfast has many nice options and is well-prepared. We had both a double room on the first floor and a balcony room on second floor in our party, and we much preferred the first floor. It’s more spacious, better laid out, and has high ceilings. The second floor is not great for tall people because there are so many low ceilings, and the rooms feel cramped.

We just stayed 3 nights in this hotel, we should stay only one but this was the best hotel we stayed in during our 4 week trip in combodia. Great rooms, very friendly staff and a nice breakfast.

Great hotel in Kampot.

The Columns is a modern small hotel in a nicely restored French colonial building one block from the river front in sleepy yet charming little Kampot. The rooms are big, modern and clean. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Great Place to stay

The room is nice and clean, aircon works well, bathroom spacious, nice shower cabin with rain shower, good water pressure for nice shower. Staff friendly and very helpful. Location is good as in walking distance to the riverside with all it's restaurants and entertainment places. The only shadow is that there was a water pump or some other drive/motor which kept on making some noise. Otherwise all ok and recommended

Lovely small hotel, great location

Lovely hotel in a great location near the river and the night market with plenty of restaurants in the area. Room was nice with a little balcony (room 10) bed was comfortable. Breakfast was served in the restaurant next to the reception and was good. Staff were very helpful and very friendly which makes for a good atmosphere.

Fantastic Place to Stay!!

This hotel is great! It’s small, quaint and charming. Great air conditioner and the most comfortable bed. Breakfast is delicious! But best of all, the staff is super kind and can assist in getting you motorcycles and seeing the city. Loved staying here.

I loved parts of this HOTEL, like the kind Breakfast and Cleaning staff, and the location, but did not Love It... as I imagined I would. It had not a single Asian entree listed on the breakfast menu. Why travel all the way to Cambodia to eat American/ Western food??? Three days in to our 6 night stay, I made mention of this, and was offered Ramen noodles with eggs... a lovely addition, but clearly an actual entree of rice or noodles would be welcome. Also, there were no Umbrellas on the tables outside to make them of use. With 34*C temps, you could not sit outside, so all the tables were not usable. Again, staff was lovely, but for the price, I would have hoped for a bit more amenities and ambiance.

Loved this hotel - staff were amazing!

I was here in Kampot as a volunteer accountant over Christmas as was SO happy I stayed at Columns. Very clean hotel, great buffet breakfast, very trusting staff and room was very secure and safe. Staff were consistabtly very professional and able to help. Everything thing I need assistance on (booking a bus back to Phnom Penh, Airline dramas) they were always willing to help. It was so nice as a solo traveller to easily communicated with them in English and feel extremely safe and secure. Also done the road are some great restaurants they are on the river and very well priced.

Lovely stay, the rooms have a Good size. Breakfast was okay, and service Good. Only minus was the bugs over the bed, including mosqitos. This was Washed away after the first night, Even without us informing anything. Location is also very good! Highly reccommended!

Boutique Hotel in Center of Historic Kampot

A small boutique hotel. Very nice breakfast. No bar, no restaurant other than bkfst. With antiques rather than trendy decorating. Well located in the historic center of Kampot. Weakish Wifi. No coffee machine or water boiler in room, otherwise tastefully decorated. Kampot is a beautiful low key French colonial looking city. The Columns staff helpfully suggested restaurants.

Disappointing

This is basically a cheap guest house with a fancy veneer. The building is old and worn. The front lobby has minimal and minimally trained staff. The shower had two settings: scalding hot and ice cold. Wifi was spotty. Wouldn't allow for even a one hour extension on check out. Wouldn't call a taxi to take me to train station, told me to go outside and find one myself. There are equivalent and even much better hotels in town for less money.
