'The room was in fair condition. It definitively could use basic upgrades. The light above the bathroom sink was not working properly. Very dim and maintenance was not able to fix because the part was not available. There were no batteries in remote and that’s never happened to us before. The staff member who checked us was not as welcoming and pleasant as she has been on many of our previous visits. 'Let me Begin by saying the staff were friendly and very helpful. That is the extent of anything positive about this hotel. The condition of the hotel can best be explained by saying it is like putting lipstick on a pig. They have done some renovations to the property however, it does not look like they're putting any real effort into providing a clean room. 'This quiet getaway was exactly what we needed. This little cottage was absolutely amazing and beautiful, clean on the inside and well maintained. My wife loved everything about it not to mention they even decorated for Valentine’s Day and it was absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend to stay in the small town of Carthage and stay at the cottage. It has definitely been put on our list of places to revisit! '

'The home is very clean and comfortable. We were in town for a wedding that kept us very busy, but it would make for a great vacation stay. The host is very polite and responds to request/questions very quickly. We will be back soon!'
