'Todo bien. El hotel es curioso. Las habitaciones se cierran con un candado. Las camas son duras ya que es una estructura de ladrillo con un colchón fino encima. La ducha muy cómoda y con bien de agua caliente. Al llegar, a las 14h, ninguna de las habitaciones estaban lista. La recepción es 24h Nos entendimos con un traductor.'

'The area was generally very dirty. The entrance to the hotel was being used as a shop for Chinese girls to get dressed up and having makeup. Hence it was as you were entering a small fitting room. The staff could hardly understand a word of english, while we had to ask for very standard supplys such as toilet roles to be provided to the room.'

'The place is located at South Avenue within the ancient city, near to Pingyao South Gate, or 15min walking distance from Small South Gate (alternative, take buggy for 10yuan). The signage for Hongyuyuan hotel was not obvious, it is easier to find using address. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The place is an ancient building, do not expect perfect heating during winter. Food and massage are nearby, is very convenient. The hotel have an restaurant, the food is not bad'

'We unfortunately could not stay in the hotel due to change of plan at last minute, but the hotel staff got in touch with us to make sure we would be only charged for a single night which was much appreciated. '
