Pensions in Izu

'Stayed in a traditional room, was lovely. Had a wonderful sleep and a lovely spot by the windows for morning coffee. The onsen was very enjoyable and a much needed to relax after a couple weeks travel.'

'The place is clean and nice. If you like the feeling of a sort of ryokan in the woods where deer walk through the garden, you might like it. Note that there are no staff on site and the only option to cook is a microwave. The place is best for people with their own transport who do not want to cook but want peace and quiet in a forest. It is up in the woods behind Yamanakako, further back than the map in Expedia makes it seem. If you find the Yamanakako Village Office on the map, trace west...
