Mooi oud hotel. Voor het geld wat ik er voor betaal verwacht ik echter wel knap uitzicht. Nu keken we op een plastic tank uit aan de zijkant van het hotel. Badkamer mag ook wel eens opnieuw gekit worden. Eten was ook behoorlijk aan de prijs. Een andere gast vroeg of hij voor het hele hotel moest betalen toen hij de rekening kreeg. Kortom de prijs kwaliteit verhouding klopt niet. Omgeving is wel een aanrader.

The pod is very nice, clean and has a lovely view. Very near to Portree and all the restaurants, shops, etc. A perfect location to start exploring the island from. Breakfast is great (a cute tray with yoghurt, croissant, fruits for every table and on top of that you can order warm food from the menu) The people working there are very friendly. Unfortunately they are short of staff and you notice that. Breakfast takes a bit longer than usual, the restaurant was shut on one of the days we stayed there and the lounge/bar was closed during our stay. Luckily there is a pizza guy (Pizza in the Skye) just down the hill that makes terrific pizza’s to take and eat in the pod with some Netflix on or to sit out and watch the stars if the weather is good. Would recommend this stay for the location, view, cosiness, etc. but price is quite high. Though I must add prices are sky high on Skye everywhere..

I highly recommend the Puffin boat tour with Turus Mara on the island of Mull. If you are staying in Oban you can book at the ferry terminal which includes a ferry to Mull, shuttle across Mull to the harbour to meet the tour boat. Remember to pack a lunch. Words cannot describe the experience of having a few hours seeing these beautiful birds so close up and so many. The photo shows one looking up watching a seagull glide across the cliff top. There are also fulmars and razorbills. You will also be taken to Fingals Cave on the island of Staffa.
