'I am giving three stars because I expected more from the presidential room we paid for. While the staff were welcoming and helpful, the hotel itself left much to be desired. A major issue was the lack of hot water for showers, which is unacceptable considering the price of the presidential suite. 'Friendly and helpful service from the staff. For example, Laurent at reception organised a walking tour of Maderas volcano for me. The rooms on the first floor with volcano views from the veranda are great - worth paying extra for. Tasty, generous breakfast. Good location, walkable to ferry, and shops and restaurants of Moyogalpa. '

'This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper. The problem starts with the entrance.
