TAHOE CITY Approximately 10 minutes north, Tahoe City offers restaurants, groceries, shops, cafés, and access to the Truckee River.
FOREST & TRAILS Hiking, trail running, and mountain biking opportunities abound. Eagle Rock, with its spectacular views over Lake Tahoe, is just a short drive away. The surrounding West Shore offers countless opportunities for exploring the mountains in every season.
WINTER ADVENTURES Drifthaus makes a cozy basecamp for exploring Tahoe’s ski resorts, followed by a private hot tub soak and a relaxed evening back at the cabin. Here, the best of Tahoe is close at hand, but the pace feels wonderfully removed from the crowds.
As our guest, you’ll have Drifthaus to yourself, with the exception of one locked owner’s storage closet. We’ve designed the property to make arrival and settling in as easy as possible.

Approximate travel times: LAKE ACCESS Tahoe Pines beach and HOA pier: 9-minute walk
Travel times are approximate and can vary considerably with weather, traffic, and seasonal road conditions.
A FEW MOUNTAIN HOUSE ESSENTIALS MOUNTAIN SERENITY Tahoe Pines is a peaceful residential community. Please be considerate of our neighbors and respect quiet hours from 8 PM to 8 AM. Sound carries surprisingly far in the clear mountain air, especially outdoors. Excessive noise complaints may result in a $300 community fine.
WINTER DRIVING & SNOW This is the Sierra Nevada, and winter conditions are part of the experience. Neighborhood roads are regularly maintained and plowed, but significant storms can create challenging driving conditions. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with appropriate winter tires is strongly recommended during snowy conditions. Chains may be required by California authorities, even for some AWD or 4WD vehicles. Please monitor weather forecasts and road conditions before traveling.
SEASONAL OUTDOOR ACCESS Heavy snowfall can limit access to parts of the elevated deck and outdoor furniture. Some outdoor furnishings may be stored during winter. The private hot tub is intended for year-round enjoyment, subject to safe weather conditions, maintenance, and any temporary operational restrictions.
HOT TUB SAFETY Please follow the posted Drifthaus hot tub guidelines. Children must be appropriately supervised, and guests should follow all safety instructions, including recommended soaking durations and temperature precautions. No glass containers in or around the hot tub.
BEACH & PIER ACCESS The neighborhood beach is public. The adjacent private pier is HOA property and accessed through a gated entrance using a key fob. The pier is available year-round and wraps around a buoyed swimming area. Swimming, jumping into the lake, and launching paddleboards are permitted activities, subject to posted safety rules and conditions. Temporary boat passenger loading and unloading is permitted. Boat parking and mooring are not permitted. Please respect the HOA’s rules and the privacy of neighboring residents.
PETS Drifthaus is currently a pet-free property. We love animals, but unfortunately cannot accommodate pets. Unauthorized pets may result in additional cleaning charges and applicable damage fees.
WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS Mountain weather can be unpredictable. Winter storms, wildfire smoke, and changing road conditions may affect travel plans. Reservations are subject to the cancellation policy and any applicable Airbnb policies or legal protections. We recommend considering travel insurance, particularly during winter.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE - Firewood is not provided. - No Air Conditioning: Like most homes in Tahoe, our cabin does not have AC. - Mountain Life: Dust and pollen can accumulate quickly on outdoor furniture. The BBQ and other outdoor furniture may be stored and unavailable during winter (typically October- May). - Uncontrollable Events: We are not responsible for uncontrollable circumstances such as poor air quality during wildfire season or snow during winter. We strongly recommend purchasing external trip insurance, as our cancellation policy will be upheld. - Safety: The home is equipped with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and a first aid kit for your safety. - In case of a power outage, there are emergency supplies located in the Kitchen pantry.

Spacious and Clean
We had an amazing stay! The house looked just as described. It felt very spacious. There were a lot of beach items available to use including paddle boards, and beach chairs. Everything was very very clean. The location was great, close to Tahoe City and a very quiet neighborhood. We had a few questions during the stay and the host responded right away. We would definitely stay here again!
