'The host responded promptly to our messages, all instructions were clear and the home was warm for us on our arrival. The space was cleverly planned to have everything you need. The views were beautiful and we were lucky to have dry days to explore Gibside and the Derwent valley. Lovely peaceful location, amenities close at hand. Thoughtful supply of books to read and general information. Very cosy and a tonic for the soul as so restful. '

'5 of us stayed here for a conference. We each had our own bedroom with a comfortable bed, but there were no curtains just pale blinds only so it was extremely bright in the morning which affected everyone's sleep. Very slow responses from the owner and sometimes no response at all. No plug for the bath and very limited kitchen equipment. Only 2 wine glasses! Kitchen pans were all dirty on arrival.
