'Everything was good. Very spacious, clean and modern. This is an apartment of a larger home with a locked door separating the unit which was a little creepy but there was generally little or no sound coming through. The views from the large windows were stunning. It was a very windy and chilly day so we had kept in doors and skipped exploring the ocean area. The heat pump worked well to keep it comfortable. Nice well equipped kitchen.'

'I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.'

'Standaard motel langs de SH1. Voor wat betreft de kleurencombinatie van het interieur is dit motel in de jaren 80 blijven hangen maar verder prima voor een overnachting als je op doorreis bent. Kom je hier voor de pinguïns dan kan je Oamaru rustig overslaan: De Blue Penguin Colony is een prijzige "tourist trap" en bij de Yellow Eyed penguins op Bushy Beach heb je een hele grote verrekijker nodig als er al iets te zien valt.'

'We hadden een bungalow met 2 slaapkamers. Een ruime badkamer en een goed uitgeruste keuken. Zeer compleet en mooi gelegen. Bankje om buiten te zitten. Prima! Kan het iedereen aanraden dit motel!'

'We were pleased to be located at the rear of the complex so didn’t hear traffic noise. The suite was situated nicely and clean and the beds were comfortable. Was especially happy to be welcomed by a cat, not sure if it’s part of the complex or neighbour but was a delightful surprise, just want to know its name. Only there for a night so only interaction with staff was check-in and the person was friendly. Kitchen is small but has the basic supplies to be able to prepare a simple meal.'
