« What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles...

« The cooked breakfast was very good but the coffee was weak. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was motel style with guest access at the back of the property and lead out onto a road where you take a path between houses to get round to the front of the building and the car park. The owners did let us take a short cut through the pub upon check-in and check-out. « The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. « I called a few days ahead of our stay to let them Know that my daughter was celebrating her 16th birthday on that day and if they could do anything special for this. They said they couldn’t as they only provide champagne for adults and they are very busy so won’t have time. I suggested maybe a small card and a few chocolates just as a welcome gesture. He sighed and seemed annoyed I had pushed the point. When we arrived I noticed the carpets in bedrooms were very obviously stained and worn out....
