'This is an older guest house with limited facilities situated in a charming village just minutes from Gatwick Airport. There is no elevator or AC and the rooms are very small. In the room there was an electric kettle and provisions to make a cup of tea, no coffee. The staff was very helpful and carried my bags to the 3rd floor, The cab cost $23 from the airport. The village center is a 5 min walk with a variety of restaurants and shops. I had a one night stay, with a 20 hour layover, and...

'I was flying from Canada. As soon as I've landed in Gatwick, they called me to cancel my reservation stating they overbooked. I had to sleep on the floor at the airport with my 15 years old daughter as all the other hotels were fully booked. If I go back to Gatwick, I won't reserve with them. Bad experience. On another note, Expedia were there to help me. They've been in touch, contacted other hotels. They did everything possible to help me.'

'When I arrived at the property, I couldn't get into the building because I had received no checkin instructions. I saw a few message asking me to pay for a damage deposit in my Expedia inbox. But I didn't get any advanced notification in my gmail inbox until on the checkin afternoon. Because I was travelling, I couldn't have seen these messages until I arrived at the property. The message was very cryptic. It wasn't immediately clear what I needed to do. Another hotel guest kindly explained...

Mijn vriend van 1.90m heeft zijn hoofd zó vaak gestoten, alle plafonds waren super laag. De badkamer was zo klein dat ik gewoon niet eens een plek voor mijn toilettas kon vinden. En het bed was klein en hard. Parkeren voor de deur was onmogelijk, we stonden 5 straten verderop. '
