'I had high expectations for the Grand Hyatt Xi'an, but unfortunately our stay did not live up to its five-star reputation. The hotel itself is beautiful and impressive in size, but that's where the "grand" experience ended for us. We booked two rooms, and the air conditioning in one of them did not work. We reported the problem, but it was never fixed during our stay. Our late-night check-in was disappointing. The front desk agent did not explain the hotel amenities, breakfast, or lounge access,...

'Hotelstaff is friendly, but not very used to foreigners. Room itself was old, worn-out: cracks in wall, peeling woodwork, torn curtains and cockroach in the bathroom.. Fooddelivery was carried instead of rolling cart. It is heavy and made staff overwelmed and very impatient while delivering the food. Not what we expected from a Sofitel..'

'The rooms and amenities here are very clean and well maintained. The hotel staff (including the front counter and the cooks) are very friendly and approachable. The concierge is active for 24 hours so you never have to worry about booking in late. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk away from the train station so heading into town is convenient.'
