'We weren't familiar with the area but chose the property for size and facilities. The property was really warm, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Plenty of kitchen equipment for us to cook for 19. The grounds were lovely. A good base for a day out in the lakes too. Highly recommended!'

'Excellent place to stay. More than fully equipped. It was short of nothing, well heated, great shower, plenty of towels and toiletries, kitchen had everything required. Would be helpful to have supermarket/ local market/pharmacy details. Limited rainy day things to do in the flat. No books, family games etc. However, Carlisle nearby. Loads of hidden tea rooms and cafes in the surrounding villages. Maryport is gorgeous.'

'From the open wood fire and daily wood supply to the lovely walks around the area, this was a gorgeous stay. A cozy cottage that offers homely living in a beautiful setting. Caldbeck is a lovely and surprisingly up market village and with the Beck waterfall offers a great easy first days shop and ramble. Thank you very much!'

'First time away with our dog and could not have picked a better place. Anne(owner/host) very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Plenty of logs for the fire, bottle of wine, fresh eggs, caramel shortcake what a welcome package, don’t think you would get this type of welcome from many places. The lodge was lovely, all the amenities you could need and more, plenty of fresh towels and bedding, the view from the living room was amazing.
