No member of staff to check me in. Just a mate doing a favour who statedโฆ โHe wasnโt being paid and didnโt care if we stayed. You people with money come expecting it to be 4* or 5*, it the bottom of the barrel, the pits go and stay atโฆโ At this point I hadnโt even got through the door, the guy was aggressive and hostile, I had only told him my name and that I had booked. After listening to home rant I said again Iโve booked that I had just flown from the UK and needed a room to sleep in. I wasnโt worried about its stars and Iโm not a person with a lot of money trying to find something for nothing as implied.
He then looked at the booking and realised heโd given a walk-in my room believing them to be my booking. He said he had one more room. By now 25 minutes had gone by and I was struggling to stand. I have multiple sclerosis. The guy had now calmed down and was engaging with me but now everything was about religion and him. By the time I got back to my car 4 minutes had pasted.
I took my wife up three flights of stairs, we are both disabled and had booked a ground floor room. When we entered the room we found live cockroaches in the bathroom and dead squashed cockroaches throughout the small room. After pulling back the sheets and exposing the mattress we found evidence of bedbugs. We locked the keys in the room and left the accommodation. It was not sanitary to stay there.
