When we arrived at the hotel, they were in the process of dealing with a fire alarm. After the check-in, which went very smoothly, the elevator was still not in operation. It seemed to take , whomever was in charge, too long to get the elevators working. People who were checking in before us & people that were checking out, were inconvenienced & the person in charge was not thoughtful enough to say, go have a free drink at the bar until I fix this or some other type of meaningful comp. The hotel is very basic, no kettle, cups, tea, coffee etc., however we were able to get hot water at the bar for our own tea & coffee. There was only 1 bath towel per person & no hand towels. Face cloths don't seem to exist anywhere in Europe. There was a microwave near the bar in the lobby for heating & not cooking food. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was awesome, the hot water was instantaneous, the air conditioner worked fine & we had a buffet breakfast there, which had some hot food even though when asked, the desk clerk said it was only continental.
