« We stayed here while at the State Fayre festival and will definitely stay here again if there is another festival next year. Friendly staff, lovely gardens and comfortable rooms (although air conditioning would’ve been nice during the heatwave!) Only suggestion would be: upgrade the toiletries in the rooms please. Two tiny watery bottles is not enough! »

« Les 4 étoiles sont un peu surfaites, mais c'est un hôtel à conseiller sans hésiter si vous profitez de promotions du week end... Très joli bar ! A dix minutes à pieds de la gare, du centre ville ou de l'université de Chelmsford. Un établissement avec un déco classique. Grand Parking. Repas sur place possible. Le personnel est accueillant. »

« Magnifique endroit en pleine campagne, calme. Accueil très agréable, délicieux petit déjeuner à l’anglaise dans une salle à manger très belle. Très jolie chambre, petit bémol juste pour la literie un peu trop dur pour moi mais pour mon mari pas de souci. »

« This place is a little dated and in dire need of some TLC. A little time or money spent on the grounds could make this place amazing again, starting with the outsides. It is cheap enough to stay and the rooms although a little dated have great flooring all around including the bathrooms. The staff we interacted with were all friendly but they were a little off putting everytime we went past the reception there would be staff hanging around outside which made you feel uncomfortable, it was sunny...

« Nous avions réservé des suites, elles étaient magnifiques, spacieuses, propres et une très bonne literie, biscuits maison dans la chambre, délicieux ! Nous avons dîné sur place d’un excellent fish and chips. Également un bon petit déjeuner. Et du personnel très sympathique !! »

« Excellent well kept property, the only issue is there is no parking with the property and local Chelmsford parking is restrictive only till 5am and the local carparks are exceptionally expensive. »

« The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. There is no public space you can hang out in within the hotel building. The price could not be beat, however. The fan for the bathroom was totally ineffective and...
