My experience with Hampton Inn Irvine East Lake Forest was unfortunately disappointing. I reached out multiple times through Expedia on 10/16, 10/17, and 10/25 because a death in my family prevented me from traveling. I also emailed the hotel directly on 11/1, 11/8, and 11/14, but never received a response. Since the hotel did not reply to any of my messages, I was left obligated to keep the reservation and stay, even while grieving the loss of my loved one. Meanwhile, the other two hotels I had booked for the same trip, Ayres Hotel & Spa Mission Viejo and Courtyard by Marriott Temecula Murrieta, responded promptly and compassionately and immediately approved my cancellations and refunds. The silence from Hampton Inn felt cold and dismissive during an already difficult time.
During my stay, the Wi-Fi was unreliable and frequently disconnected. Room cleaning is supposed to occur every other day, but despite checking in on 11/28, my room was not cleaned on 11/30. I left early that morning for church and returned to find a โDo Not Disturbโ sign on my door. I never used that sign during my stay, which made it seem like housekeeping placed it there to avoid cleaning the room.
On a positive note, the woman at the reception desk was exceptionally kind, attentive, and welcoming. The free breakfast had good options, and I enjoyed both the food and the coffee. Overall, the lack of communication and disregard for guest concerns overshadowed the few positives of my stay.
