'Despite an excellent location just next to the entrance to the cathedral, this hotel is another of those run-down, bleak firetraps from way back in the last century. You know it's old as soon as you climb the narrow stairs to the tiny reception area and notice the grimy carpet and chipped woodwork. Getting to your room involves climbing meandering stairs that go one way, up another short flight of stairs, and then still in another direction. (There is no lift.) My room had a nice bed but little...

'Hotel ligt op het terrein van de kathedraal. 's Nachts heel stil. Je zit midden in het centrum van Canterbury, alles is binnen loopafstand. De bedden zijn heerlijk. De badkamer is een openbaring: je kan douchen zonder dat de spiegel beslaat. Het ontbijt overtreft alles: ruime keuze uit Continental buffet, plus een kaart met heerlijke extra's, zoals volledig english breakfast, eggs Benedict, etc. Alle ontbijt opties zonder extra kosten!'

'Leuk authentiek hotel in het midden van het prachtige Rye. Kamers zijn ruim en prima ingericht, vriendelijk personeel en zeer goed ontbijt. Helaas was de afvoer van de wasbak volledig verstopt en sloeg de niet geheel geluidloze airco op de gang naast onze kamer 's ochtends om 6 uur aan. Personeel ging het allemaal oplossen, dus voor de volgende gasten is dit geen probleem meer.'

'Dichtbij het centrum. Online stond er hotel, maar is eigenlijk b&b. Afgeleefd, geen verwarming in badkamer. Je kon ontbijt eten maar moest op de kamer waar er eigenlijk geen plaats voor was.'

'A clean, well-run place. I booked at the last minute, so the email with information on accessing the place was sent by email while I was on the train. Wifi on the train was non-existent, so I had difficulty downloading the information, so I rang the landlord, who was extremely helpful. '

'Lovely b and b in perfect location minutes from beach. Excellent breakfast. I wish I'd been there when the weather improved the next day as there is a lovely patio by the river.'

'Beautiful quaint guest house, hosted by the kind and very helpful John and his lovely wife who went above and beyond. John was helpful in sharing information about local attractions as well as nice places to eat. Really enjoyed a quiet weekend away at the coast. Must stay if you’re in Dover. '

'de kamer op zich en de lokalisatie dicht bij het centrum zijn ok . Dit is echter geen hotel , wel een veredelde " kamer met ontbijt " waarbij je op voorhand moest melden wat je wenste te eten ( met een beperkte keuze . Geen lift , zeer veel trappen tot het. derde verdiep . Beperkte aanwezigheid van , vermoedelijk , jobstudentes die alles , receptie ea moesten doen moesten doen ( tussen het roken ). Voor dezelfde prijs waren onze vrienden , tegelijk met ons , in een echt hotel'

'In over 30 years of travelling on business, this is one of the best places I have stayed in.Although I did not meet the owners it was clear that the accommodation was well looked after and virtually everything had been thought of for the comfort of their guests. Virtually everything was absolutely spotlessly clean.The only small point I noticed was that there was dirt around the toilet seat hinge - a bit of a dirt trap and difficult to access(I'm sounding like a "Four in a Bed" contestant...

'Situated very remote but quite and green environment. No tv in the room, every day same breakfast existing out a pre-packed croissant, mango juice, some home made granola and some oat milk. Coffee is available in the room but does not get refilled once used. We stayed 2weeks, during that time the bed linen has not been changed and room is only cleaned once together with towels. Good for short stays… '

'We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment has a lovely beach vibe and has everything you need. The location is great - just across the road from the beach and close to Sandgate's coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Nikki was very quick to respond to questions before we booked, and our dog really appreciated the welcome treats.'
