'We were in town for my Mother-in-laws funeral and needed a room for one night. The room was musty smelling even though the AC was running. The carpet looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed very well and felt nasty on feet, lamp shades are dirty. Also part of bed thin wood cover gone. The breakfast was your basic. Could choose biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs,waffles,hard-boiled eggs,yogurt, and dry cereal. Toast or muffins as well. This hotel is close to Pizza Ranch, Mexican restaurant,...

'It was convenient. Easy parking not too busy of an area. Did sleep good. The girl working the counter super helpful (new) and the manager was too but I got locked out of my room twice cuz the door knob was in need of fixing and the manager was like no big deal it just that room. They gave me a new room…Tired, hot, AC not working in new room. Fixed that. Had to unplug the phone cuz the constant flashing red light was very annoying. It wasn’t horrible but I would see if something else available...

'The front desk staff was welcoming. However, although I tried to give the place some grace because they are going through renovations, the room wasn't the cleanest I have seen in this chain. The shower door was very dirty on the bottom and the floor was sticky. When looking up, I see a bug in the light cover, too. A few things that could easily have made the stay better. As I was leaving, I grabbed some coffee and when I took the first sip, it was cold. A little disappointed all the way around.'

'pool was indeed "warm" (rare), and the hot tub OK. HOWEVER, the room had several issues with lights that didn't work, and multiple light switches not apparently attached to anything. Back to the pool - we each took one of 3 small towles provided. Only one left. And, the coffee machine was turned off in the lobby about 6 pm. Attendant said there was one in the room - right, one Decaf. Poor part of town, homeless persons strolling the alley. 5 points for having Sausage and Biscuits for...

'Absolutely one of the best VRBO's we have stayed at. Bev is an excellent host, everything exactly as described with extra touches from the host. We would stay here again for sure. Keosauqua is a cute small town if you have an event in the area or just getting away we highly recommend "The Shop"'
