Staff was friendly, helpful. Our bathroom door in our room did not shut due to the kitchen counter being BUILT in the way. Our shower curtain rod was angled DOWN so the shower curtain does not pull close, resulting in water on the floor. Fire alarm went off twice for 0 reason for an hour. Not a terrible hotel for the price but you get what you pay for.
1st, they didnât have my reservation. I booked a double room for check in on 5/16 and check out 5/18. The only room available was single. I took that room and paid for the two nights. On 5/17 returning to room, was not able to access room. Front desk closed. Used phone in front entry to call customer service. They had someone come in to help. Seems that the front desk person on Friday afternoon, Darren, only booked me for one night but charged me for two. The customer service person that was called in to assist me, Amy, said the room was for one night only. I asked if it would be possible for us to stay in the room since all of our stuff was still in there. She said no and gave us 10 minutes to get our stuff and leave. Which we did. It would have been good customer service to allow us to stay in the room since I already paid for it and it was not being used by anyone else. I was told no and to vacate the room asap.
The pictures online must be from when the hotel was new. It is old and run down. The site indicates there is a partial kitchen (refrig, stove top, microwave). 'Home away from Home'.
The stove top looked unsafe. The microwave had black markings throughout the inside - I don't know if it is from scouring away the coating or what. Refrigerator was OK. Only kitchen implements provided were empty ice cube trays. You have to 'rent' pots, pans, dishes, etc. But I wouldn't bother because I don't think the appliances were safe to use.
Only 'comforts' provided was a wash cloth, towel and bar of soap and 2 plastic cups. No coffee maker, not even an ice bucket.
The only good thing I can say is that the room was 'OK' in cleanliness.
There was no grab and go breakfast like advertised and in order to cook you had to purchase all the utensils , there was hair in the tub. There was a bobby pin under the desk and they advertised queen size bed but it is a full size bed. I travel to philly once a year and will not stay there again. 2 nights before i left i woke up in the middle of the night from being bit by something
Checked in was okay got to the room was no hot water in the tub the room was kind of falling apart ... There was hair in the bottom of the tubs and the sink had to have our room switched and there was hair in the bottom of the tub and sink in that room as well but it did have hot water all around stay away from this hotel they did not even offer any reimbursement from having to move from room to room... Overall rating very terrible would never stay there again would never recommend it
Fire Alarm issue during evening hours and my room on two occasions was not prepared, cleaned or properly stocked. My experience in past has been positive but my two recent stays were very disappointing
With the recent snow and cold,it was difficult to walk from the car to the lobby without sliding or possibly falling. Check-in booth closed at 10 PM and I had to call to get someone to come check me in. Room was clean, bed was comfy, heater worked well and TV had plenty of channels and picture was crisp. Drain in bathroom sink was closed and I had no way to open it so I used the sink by the kitchen for everything. Quite overpriced for my night's stay.
The parking lot was unplowed, and it has been a week since the snow. The snow was driven on and packed down and slippery. I mentioned the poor parking lot to the desk staff and he got snippy with me. No bath mat or shampoo in room. There were no spoons/ forks in the kitchenette, in fact there was nothing in the kitchenette.
Microwave worked. There was a full sized refrigerator. Nice plus was a recliner in room, although I didn't realize it was a recliner until I was ready to leave. I was in the area 2 nights ; I didn't stay here the second night.
