'Clean and pretty large room, and the price is expensive but very reasonable for summer season in St. Helena, where most places are in the $600-800 range, and this one almost half. Liked that it wasn’t “corporate”. The grounds are kept pretty nice. Also liked that it was pet friendly… easy a nice places to walk your pup around the hotel too. Peaceful spot overall and literally next to some of the world’s best restaurants and vineyards.'

'The check in staff was very friendly. The room I was originally assigned smelled like smoke, apparently the last guest missed the memo about no smoking in the rooms, the front desk receptionist was very efficient about moving me quickly to a very clean room that I was happy with. Breakfast was make your own waffles, I love that, along with choice of OJ or apple juice, coffee or tea, yogurt and cereal. Good way to start the day, nice it was included. '

The beds are not comfortable which I believe had a lot to do with the fluffy pillows that flatten within a minute of laying on them. We needed 3 each and still had horrible sleep and a kinked neck that was actually not caused from riding rides at six flags since we didn’t prior to the forest nights sleep. 'No towels. No soap. No shampoo. Nothing. Had to go down to office several times to ask the very friendly and helpful staff member for items. Bathroom was very dirty. Brown stuff all over the walls, that comes right off with a damp towel. Hair all over the beds. Shower was completely filled with dirt and sand. 'Nice hotel. We have 2 complaints: 1. There was no non-dairy milk for breakfast.
2. No elevator. We chose a 2nd floor room and the front desk did not let us know about no elevator until I asked after we were about to go to room. The clerk should have anticipated that two 80+ seniors would not want to lug suitcases up steps.'
