'Our first time at the Valentin and it did not disappoint. We had a swim up suite and the room was amazing. Huge bathroom and shower. The bar staff at the pool were all great and very attentive. 'Super hotel with all the luxury you need. The staff is very helpfull and always there for you. The food is very delicious although I prefer a buffet breakfast so you can have a little bit of everything. Also the beach and pool and super. The spa experience is also defenitly a must.'

'We visited here in 2009 and had the best experience ever, well 17 years later we hoped it would be much of the same. I can’t say our stay was horrible because it definitely was not. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves, but it was quite a different experience this time around. 'Biggest problem is that it’s in the middle of nowhere so unless you know for sure you’re there for the wakeboarding, I would not stay there. Other than that the room was pretty ample and nice. Food was fine.'

The breakfast at the Kaban restaurant on the water is a sublime experience. The jungle spa has everything you’d expect at a world-class facility, and it is right in the middle of a teeming jungle. 'We stayed here with two families with 4 kids under 10 for two nights.They had so much for them to do. A pool, bounce houses, a trampoline, electric cars, a campfire, and they even got to play with the resident bunny, ducks, and chickens. The staff was also extremely kind and helpful making the kids food to order throughout the day and always finding things to entertain them. We didn't have our own car, but they happily drove us to local cenotes and even helped pick up a friend who needed a ride...

'This place was a MAJOR disappointment. 1) The SMELL. It just smelled BAD. I thought initially it was all the seaweed, but one day I walked out far past my bungalow, and the water became much clearer. Near the bungalow, it just looked, funky, and SMELLED. I discovered upon returning home, that the expansion of large hotels has put a strain on the sewer system.
