« We were in the area for a wedding and stayed a few extra days at The Amelia. We loved the hotel and had a huge 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. It felt like staying in someone’s personal home. The hotel is extremely clean and our room was kept tidy daily. There is a small kitchen area stocked with coffee, tea, drinks and snacks. « Unfortunately, we had the smallest room with the smallest bathroom (Margaret Room). Normally we don't complain but the experience did not start out well. The toilet seat was loose and it just got worse in the evening. We should have let management know right away but we didn't expect it to fall off. The bathroom sink is narrow and "sideways". « The room itself was clean, nicely furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. My only thing is that both the sink and the shower drain were incredibly slow. Also, nowhere to store your bags if you have a later train than their strict 11am checkout time. »

« I used to stay in it when it was the holiday house which was a purely 50s motel. it’s been bought and refurbished and renamed the brooks.
