Our single level 3 bedroom, 3 bath 1,500 sq ft condo (Unit 531) in the Kendall Mountain building offers the ultimate convenience in winter or summer as it is located in the heart of Purgatory Village only steps from the primary high-speed lift to the top of the mountain, the Purgatory Express.

The condo is located on the 5th floor (elevator access) and offers amazing views of the Main Plaza and the slopes and is one of the rare ski in/out properties with a private hot tub (brand new in 2019).

The condo was completely remodeled in 2019 and was professionally decorated and each bedroom contains a TV and high end furnishings and linens.

3rd Bedroom - Bunk Beds (2) (Single over Single)(Main Level)

The Kendall building also features a hot tub on the roof with amazing views.

For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.

Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units in the Kendall Building, are NOT pet friendly.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Great Stay

Stayed here for Spring Break 2025. Very convenient location and nice accommodations. Hot tub and sauna are a nice touch. The slopes were right there and had a great view. The locker in the bottom floor was super convenient for storing skis and poles. Only small issue was the hard water made the glassware pretty cloudy. Other than that, pretty ideal.

3 bedroom condo but 1 parking pass. No hot pads, no kitchen towels, no dish rags, a few trash bags left in kitchen but no trash can. Arrived at 15 min til 4. Would not let us check in. Then did keys wrong and had to go back. Staff at store was rude also. Condo and view beautiful.

Yearly Ski Vacation

We have been bringing our high school/ college kids and friends here to ski for the past few years. This property was a perfect location and offered the perfect entertainment for college age kids. We had a wonderful time!

BEWARE—STAY AWAY!

I was very disappointed in the property on many fronts. Bill, the property manager was combative from the first evening I arrived and checked in to let him know we did not have access to the Durango Mountain Club (which we paid 8% resort fee for). He said the HOA representatives at the front desk control the keys to the club. We tried for 4 days to access the club which we paid the extra resort fee to access with no luck. The dry sauna in the unit DID NOT WORK at all during the entire stay. Not once did Bill send a maintenance person to check it out, and I have the email thread where I informed him about this more than once. Bill told me in an email the day I checked out that the breaker was blown for the dry sauna, but no refund was given for the amenities not being as advertised. Also, the hot tub did not heat up past 88 degrees, and it also had over 10 feet of snow all around it. The snow drifts covered the entire outdoor fireplace, the grill, and all the patio furniture making it unable to be used. I also informed Bill of this in writing immediately. Another major snow issue was discovered on day 3 of our 6 night stay when as my 3 year old was napping, the snow removal crew started banging on the door and a whole crew of men came in to our condo to clear the 10 feet of snow because it had caused the ceiling in the condo below unit 531 to leak extensively. The crew showed pictures and it was ballooned out and water pouring through the ceiling below. The snow removal employee, Tyler, stated he maintained EVERY SINGLE condo in the Kendal building except for this unit because they chose the cheap route of not proactively removing the snow and to “take their chances.” Now that extensive damage was done to the condo below, they were forced to take action. For the next 3 days for 2-3 hours each afternoon, we had a crew of 4 men removing snow from the deck, completely disrupting our stay. Again, I informed Bill of this in writing and absolutely nothing was done for the inconvenience. The pots and pans are so old and damaged that you cannot cook with them. It states in previous reviews this issue, and they claim they have replaced the pans. They have not. The cleaning crew leaves MUCH to be desired if you are looking for a thoroughly cleaned place to rent. Both sinks in the master bathroom were stopped up and we had to purchase Drano to use them during our stay. Will never stay here again!! Be warned!

This was our best VRBO experience at Purgatory to date. Communication with property manager was excellent! Very nice furnishings, etc. The only downfall was cooking pans were not in great shape, but everything else was fantastic. Highly recommend this property, do buy kleenex though! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Spacious condo

We had 2 families rent this condo - it was perfect! Had two master suites both with king beds - and the 3rd room had 2 sets of bunk beds - which was perfect for our 3 boys. The kitchen is a little small for the size of the condo but we made due. There was enough seating for everyone to hang out after long days on the slopes. The outdoor seating was covered with snow so we didn't get to enjoy that- we did get to enjoy the hottub - but because there has been so much snow the week prior there were some dangerous pieces of ice dangling over the hottub that we could not break off. The sauna did not seem to work - but we didn't call anyone. We had a few fires and the wood they brought was great and lots of it. We are already planning our next trip to stay in this condo!

Spring Break ski trip

Unit was comfortable, attractive, and clean with everything in working order. Unit had everything we needed except a casserole dish that the management company provided upon request. Because of the notation "starter supplies provided" I was afraid it would only include one roll of tp and two dishwasher soap pods. I packed extras of everything we might need for fear I would have to shop daily for what we might run out of. I was happy to see they provided generously for all consumables for our 5 night stay, along with some extras like left over foil, coffee and seasonings. The only bad mark is for location. It is identified as ski-in/ski-out, but that is debatable. Unless you consider walking across the approximately 250 ft courtyard and up a flight of stairs, as shown in the photos, in ski boots, carrying your skis, ski-in/ski-out, it is not. We had not been to Purgatory before so we did not know that was the closest point of access. For this reason, we never came in for lunch, potty breaks, water or rest, and I feel like it is a little over priced. It had two patios, one of which was only partially usable due to recent snowfall, with a skinny shoveled trail to the hot tub and bar-b-q. The second patio had a roof so it was accessible. One inconvenience was, as pictured, the two king bedroom's bathroom showers have no privacy from the connected bedroom.

Overall very nice place. Modern and updated. Great location with covered parking. Sauna and hot tub a minor plus. TV had Apple TV which was great for my youngest. Sleeping areas were really nice. Great view of the mountain. Only 2 negatives, needs a new hot tub cover and a better can opener. Those are minor concerns compared to everything else being great!

Amazing location for ski in/ski out!!Great layout for two families with children vacationing together. We had a couple of minor issues, and they were handled promptly. We really enjoyed staying at the property. We love cooking and relaxing together while enjoying the warmth of a fire while soaking in the view of the mountain. The hot tub and sauna were a much appreciated addition to our relaxing experience.

Need to clean!!!!

We had to scrub the dishes they were so dirty. The silverware had big globs of food on them. Floors were dirty. The condo is very spacious and well appointed but who ever cleans should be fired.

A little disappointed in the layout and cleanliness

We arrived around 10pm and was so dark we had trouble finding where we needed to go. Once we got to the Condo the kitchen floor and cabinets were dirty to include the rug between the bunk beds. We had to get the vacuum out to clean before unpacking. Speaking of unpacking; the room with the bunk beds did not have a dresser to unpack to and the “closet” had all the cleaning supplies in it. Also that room had its own bathroom but, bed and bath was not private to the room with the queen. Simple fix by adding a farm door by the room with a queen. What we had to do was bring in the bar stools from the kitchen to put our suitcases on and hung a sheet up to at least have a little privacy. To use the patio with the hot tub, tables and grill, access is through one of the two bedrooms. So if you were to grill, you have to drag the food through either the queen room or room with the bunk beds. Also, the sauna didn't work which was also a weird set up, entry from the queen room or the room with the bunk beds and about the size of a small closet. I would have made it a closet for that room with the bunk beds. This space is great for two couples with kids but definitely not three or more couples if you want privacy. Looks soacious in the pictures but very closed in and very small kitchen. They did accommodate us for all the time we had to send cleaning and for the things missing or broken. But, will not be staying in this condo in the future.

A small get away

We absolutely loved the property. We had a little issue with a backed up drain which was attended to immediately. The only thing I wish they had, were better pots and pans and serving bowls we like to cook. But we really felt at home there. They did a nice remodel even though I didn’t see it before. My daughter and I are both designers and we were staying at the property and we gave it a thumbs up.

Beautiful, but needs a little maintenance

Nice property, great location, & beautifully decorated, but some things need to be fixed. There is a missing drawer handle in the kitchen. The kitchen pantry handle is loose & the shower door handle came off in the 2nd master. The ceiling fan remote was missing in the 2nd master. The kitchen looks much larger in the pictures & additional baking dishes would be helpful. The hot tub was great, with a nice view of the mountain.

Beautiful Stay

This condo was awesome. We enjoyed the view of the mountain, the easy location to the ski lift, the hot tub, and the space! It was a wonderful vacation. The only problem we had with the stay is that the sauna was not working. Management said they would send someone to fix it but that didn't happen. The great thing about this condo though is that it was close to the public hot tub and sauna too, so the kids just went to that one.

High end remodel. Very nice furniture and stay. Hot tub was in point and also nice. Sauna wasn’t working or couldn’t get it to work but it’s okay. Overall fantastic.

Great Skiing Getaway

The place was very nice and has great views looking over Purgatory Village and the Village Express lift. Being able to just walk out and jump on the lifts or run up to the room for a break or bite to eat is incredibly nice. The in room Sauna and Jacuzzi on the balcony were great for ending the day. The only problems was that our stay was to short.
