Cottages in Dunfermline

'We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge....

'Ons verblijf was zeer goed. Huisje is in een rustige omgeving, zeer volledig ingericht en hele gastvrije huiseigenaren. Wij hadden een huurauto en binnen 35 minuten waren we in Edinburgh.'

'Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. '

'This place is perfect! Clean, beautiful and wonderful location! It’s nearby the golf course, and very easy to get to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Francesco is always friendly and helpful. We had a very good time there and we definitely would come back again!'

'We are a family of 5 and we stayed at the Bothy for 4 nights during half term. It is an ideal location for day trips in and around Edinburgh and it is very close to the local village of Penicuik which was handy for supermarkets, takeaways etc. The Bothy is very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. It was just as described and more! Kate and John were extremely helpful in their communication before our stay and were on hand if we needed it while we were there. The tray of goodies...

'After a long drive to get there it was lovely to dump the cases and get into the hot tub. The accommodation was better than expected and we both enjoyed our stay there. We were told that the drive was a wee bit tight but other than that, no issues'

'Lots of good things to say about this place. The history of it being a stable - charming. The smell of lavender planted near the entrance - charming. The sound of sheep bleating if you crack one of the many the windows - charming. Church and old cemetery next door - charming. Young deer visits daily just outside the dining/living area - charming. I docked one star on cleanliness because I found a pacifier under one of the beds and I know they allow dogs but the kitchen smelled like dog -less...
