B&B in Dumfries

'Loved our huge Van Gogh decorated bedroom and great en-suite. Lovely and light with huge window. Breakfast, great range of choices. You couldn't leave hungry. Downside was that we were unable to use the TV because of the Sky set-up. Only catered for two users at any one time. However, we weren't there to watch TV. Hosts, Mandy and Dan were very accommodating and welcoming, as were their three dogs. Would definitely recommend.'

'The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk. '

'Great stay a short walk from the centre of Moffat. Caroline and Miles are super helpful and nice (Miles kept parking spaces free for us so we could park our motorcycles right outside the front of the hotel.) Plenty of parking on this quiet street. There are just 3 rooms here. They are a good size, warm and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great quality with lots of choice. Couldn’t fault the quality and service and will definitely return.'

'We enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed the conversations we had with our hosts, Esther and Ian, both of whom when out of their way to welcome us and help us. We especially enjoyed walking from the B&B to Threave Castle and exploring the nature preserve. We were traveling without a car and had no problem getting to the property by bus.'

'Just when you think your GPS is taking you in the wrong direction you arrive at this quaint little cottage. Being welcomed by staff , breakfast to order and full of helpful information. Would definitely recommend the beauty and quiet for a chance to relax.'
