You will love this private setting - cottage on 5 acres backing up to a forested mountainside.

Stay in our comfortable, well-furnished home, and you’ll get to experience all the beauty and fun that Evergreen, Colorado has to offer! Hikes in every corner of our town that are perfect both in the summer and winter! Ice skating, ice fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and everything in between at the famous Evergreen Lake (just 15 min away from property). Visit the historic Little Bear Saloon, where you‘ll hear all the best local musicians and enjoy a drink or great meal! Just the tip of the iceberg of all you’ll find in Evergreen. See below for some additional ideas on some of the many unique opportunities our mountain town has to offer! It’s the perfect getaway for your family or group- you don’t have to go far for so many interesting things to do!!

One minute access to I-70; perfect to stage day-trips to so many Colorado adventures! Less than an hour to some of the top-rated ski resorts in Colorado! 40 minutes from St. Mary's Glacier and 25 minutes to downtown Denver. 15 minutes to white water rafting, ziplining, historic Idaho Springs and so much more!!!

While you are staying at our cute and spotlessly clean home, you’ll have plenty of room to relax and make great memories, while also being within walking distance of Starbucks, Walmart and Qdoba. Nicely appointed home includes large great room with wood burning fireplace and dining table to seat 10; 3 bedrooms with all new linens/mattresses and two full baths; the three bedrooms on the main floor consist of: (1st) 1 king bed room, (2nd) 1 queen bed room, (3rd) 2 twin bed room.

The beautiful mountainside forest on our property includes four outdoor patios to enjoy the fresh, crisp mountain air. You will appreciate this peaceful spot to base your Colorado experience from! Feel free to contact us with any questions!!

We have put much effort and taken great care into providing a wonderful home and environment for our guests! Hill Side Home Base
The house has a lot of character. It is perched on a hillside with no close neighbors, except a few deer that bed down on the hillside behind the house. The house is old, with creaky floors and hard mattresses, but we didn't mind. The location was perfect, with convenient shopping just down the hill and a short drive to Red Rocks and Rocky Mountain National Park. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for Mines families
My family stayed during Mines graduation. The house was an easy drive to and from events with easy access to both Golden and Evergreen. It was cozy and clean with huge windows facing the valley. We loved the front room with the fireplace to visit together while enjoying the views.

Weekend Family Wedding
We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful home. Everything was perfect. Susan showed us around when we first got there to make sure we knew were everything was. It was a quite cottage and loved the outdoor mountain life it had around it. It was a very relaxing stay. Beds were very comfortable. Loved how she had fresh wild flowers in all the rooms. They were beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Wedding in Golden
The great room is the most wonderful feature of this property allowing people to sit and relax comfortably in well positioned and comfortable furniture. This room has large picture windows and a large fireplace plus a large dining table which can accommodate 10 or more. You could actually sleep 9 people in the property. There are 5 twin beds- 3 of which are in the lowest level so this would be a great space for older children to have their own spot. There might also be a sleep sofa - we didn’t need all of what was available so did not explore that option. Not shown in the photos is the property’s proximity to Walmart, Home Depot and Starbuck’s. We needed various items during our stay and Walmart, within walking distance had just about everything. The back part of the property has 3 patio areas built into the Ponderosa Pine studded hillside. That was a nice place to sit and grab a little vitamin D. The 5 acres of hilly terrain was too steep for me to navigate safely without hiking boots. I had to refrain from twisting an ankle if I wanted to dance with my son at his wedding. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, however the Master bedroom did not have any type of closet, just hooks on the back of the door. The bedroom with the queen bed has its own bath and also a wardrobe for hanging clothes. None of the bedrooms had any room darkening blinds or shades so I would advise bringing a sleep mask if early morning light would be an issue for you.

Felt remote even though you’re near a Starbucks and Walmart. Great views and enough space for us all to spread out. Great communication from the host and home was stocked well with appliances and blankets. We had a wonderful time!

Susan’s property is beautiful, charming, and very cozy. We were so happy here! Sunday morning we got an extra special morning as we sat by the fireplace with our coffee watching the first snow fall of the season. Our group was the bridal party for a best friend’s wedding at the pines and I can’t wait to see how the photos turned out as we ended up having them taken at the property because of how pretty it is there. Perfect place for a three generation stay to celebrate a family wedding in Evergreen. Very convenient to interstate for arrival/departure. Necessity shopping, local restaurants and Starbucks within 5 minutes or less (walking if you want the exercise). Views, scenic drives, parks and venues within 30 minutes. Hostess/owner (Susan) made personal contact along the way and was immediately available for questions should a questions arise. Certainly another happy and successful VBRO adventure for us. Highly recommend this property for your Evergreen area visits.

The property was as listed. GPS had a little trouble getting us to the building, but it wasn't too bad. It's near some shopping and, most importantly for some, a Starbucks. We didn't spend much time in the home as we were hiking a lot, so I can speak much to items like how well the kitchen was stocked. The highlight of the property was certainly the owners. Communication was prompt, friendly, helpful, and just made the stay simple and easy. Strongly recommend!

College Visit
We were in town to visit The Colorado School of Mines. The house was convenient to the college and many other activities (Mount Evans, Idaho Springs, Denver). Susan was a great host & the house had so many amenities and small touches that exceeded our expectations. The flowers throughout the house was a nice touch. The kitchen had all of the utensils/pans/pots that we needed. The bathroom towels were fluffy and soft. Even though the house is surrounded by residential/commercial development, it is still quiet. We saw bunnies and chipmunks in the mornings. There are 3 additional beds in the basement. We did not use them & my kids said they would not stay down there. It's not completely finished and they felt too removed from the rest of the house. Something to consider if you are renting the house and need the additional beds. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Family Home & Location
Our vacation was perfect mostly because of our stay at this perfect home & location! Susan was the most pleasant and generous hostess with ideas for family fun and exploring. Our 2 10 yr old grandsons loved exploring the surroundings around the home! It snowed which left a beautiful landscape. Snow shovel and ice melt were available in the garage which Susan reminded us to use on that morning. Driving to and from home was not difficult even with the snow. Great central location to many attractions both indoors and outdoor: snow tubing at nearby Echo Mountain! Breckenridge & Vail slopes within decent distance for day trips. Returning ‘home’ after the day’s adventures, we were able to all have a great nights’ sleep - ready for our next excursion! Thank you Susan & Jim for sharing your home with us! Sonya & family.

What a great spring break get away.
Where to start?! What an amazing trip we had! The location of this house couldn’t be anymore perfect! 20-30 minutes away from everything! (Casinos, downtown Denver, echo mountain..etc) Susan was so helpful through our entire stay! She checked in on us here and there. Would definitely book again. Thank you again, ms. Susan!
