'As good as the pictures on VRBO are of this site, they don't quite capture the charming character of this house. And it is a house (the lower floor), an absolute classic from the late 1800s. Beautifully and thoughtfully appointed in all regards. Main living areas, kitchen, bathrooms - all excellent. The bedding is top notch (love those pillows). '6 of us 40 somethings really enjoyed our stay! The house is cuter in person than the pictures! Awesome screened in porch and back deck space. Very clean and homey! We enjoyed shopping and the local restaurants. Very quick uber ride to the city center or doable walk. '

'We had a short trip to leave my grandson at Rockford University. There was a lot of rushing around, back and forth, getting things arranged, but this house provided a lovely respite for us each evening to relax and get good sleep. The owners are very responsive, the kitchen is well-stocked, and everything is well-labeled. Even as modern amenities abound, the house is a beautiful specimen of Victorian architecture. '

'Fantastic location. Walking distance to town, trails, river, everything. Super nice house. My only comments would be to have the deck furniture cleaned of cob webs, deck blown off and perhaps soap available in the showers. I would 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone '

'This is a very recently updated house and is in great shape with nice furniture, hang-out space and new appliances. You have really easy access to both downtown St. Charles and Geneva. The Fox River bike path/ trail is right across highway 25 and there is a trail head right there. We rented bikes from Mill Race Cyclery end enjoyed the ride along the river to Batavia and back. 'We were very comfortable at Michael’s place and it was decorated very well. The house was very clean and the air conditioning in each room was a huge help for being there in August! 'We came to watch the Kane County Cougar baseball and the Labor Day weekend with our family inc a baby. The house was well equipped for cooking and enjoying TV and dinners. Loved having lots extra towels available and a washer and dryer . The location was great for walking to Historic Downtown Geneva and St. Charles to the restaurants and stores and to walk along the Fox River. Great memories of our day !'

'It’s super close to downtown Yorkville!! So in the months with better weather it would be perfect to stay and walk to the few restaurants downtown and little shops and the river area. We arrived a little early and the host let us in and was able to change the codes around so we could check in as it was cold out! So super accommodating helpful!! Didn’t bother me but be aware long flight of stairs up, train goes by often, never really heard it from bedroom but you can hear it in living room not super loud just in background.
