'Lovely location near Hexham with stately home vibes and comfortable bedrooms. The bar overlooks the golf course and has lots of nooks and crannies to settle in with a glass of whatever to people watch. The restaurant has a very good menu and the staff are attentive and make sure all is OK with your meal. Breakfast is self serve with full platters of tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.'

'Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. But all in all a very pleasant stay and reasonable value for...

'The bar was well stocked great pub atmosphere. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfy. Host were friendly left us in peace. The back door was easy quick exit for leaving. There is room for improvement on the corridor to the stairs of our room. Overall would happily stay again. Did not try the food.'

'The room was nice spacious but could use an update. And they made a fuss about me not wanting to eat in the special 'dog-area' because it felt like being put away... and too hot. i wanted outside but there they didn't serve... finally it was okay but i had to stand my ground and that was not so nice after a very long day's walk... beautiful sitting area outside though!'

'Lovely staff, all friendly and proud of the Inns History. We were there on a very quiet night! Lovely large room with a 4 poster bed and excellent bathroom with walk in shower. Breakfast beat us, freshly prepared as we came down. '

'Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. '

'Kamer op zich niet onaardig, maar aan straatkant aan drukke straat, dus lawaaiig. Maar het vervelendste was dat telkens als je water gebruikte (wastafel, wc of douche) de leiding of de afvoer een echt verschrikkelijk kabaal maakte! Ik ben bang dat dat bij alle kamers het geval was, hoewel we het niet van alle kamers hoorden, gelukkig.'

'Very spacious room and bathroom, more like a suite. Very comfortable, sophisticated. Big car park. Club house & restaurant some distance to walk in bad weather, but they served some good food both at dinner and breakfast (only one course allowed!).'
